I am student at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Chinese and Environmental studies. I was raised on a dairy farm about an hour outside of Pittsburgh and some of my best friends growing up were tabby cats and chickens. Today, I love making human friends.

Aside from travelling whenever I can, I like to stay active in Pittsburgh. I'm a full time student who works on the weekends, but in my free time I like to hike, bike ride, kayak, and fish with my three kid siblings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been blessed with the opportunity of discounted flight tickets and am trying to experience as much of the world as I can while I am young. Unfortunately, as a student I need to save as much money as I can in my travels. I care more about experience and making friends than I do about fancy hotels or resorts. I love to make friends around the world and encourage them to visit me in my hometown of Pittsburgh as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Listing my favorite music, movies and books is definitely too hard. I am open to all genres of music and movies. Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors and I love to read satire. Some of my all-time favorite feel good tv shows are: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, and Portlandia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015, I moved to China and lived with a home-stay family whom I met through Skype. I didn't speak Chinese and they didn't speak English so it was pretty amazing that we became life-long friends.
