About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have a self styled adventure in Italy while brushing up on the language, meeting unique but kindred souls, and taking brief repose from a hectic lifestyle in the country where they know how to do it best :)
ABOUT ME
I work in human resources at Google and YouTube which I love because I'm an adamant people person with a penchant for logistics and planning. I grew up in the Bay Area, went to school in Austin, studied abroad in Florence, and now I live in San Francisco with my best friend. Every once in a while I get the urge to write. Someday I'd like to work in the music industry.
I recently decided to make decisions like my 16 year old self but with the wisdom of my 24 years on this earth. I'm equally happy having a low key day or night at home as I am having a spur of the moment adventure with friends or alone.
PHILOSOPHY
"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got
hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." - George Bernard Shaw
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I'm looking to surf in Italy while I travel for a few months. When I get back to San Francisco in May, I'd love to start hosting surfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None so far...will update as soon as I start actively surfing :)
Interests
I can't think of anything I love more than making people laugh. When I travel I try to experience life like a local. My other interests include: LIVE MUSIC, staying up too late to finish books, taking an exhaustive approach to philosophical pondering, playing volleyball, finding random things in common with strangers, The Settlers of Catan, overweight longhair calico cats, and getting random groups of people to sing Bohemian Rhapsody in public at 2 in the morning.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like too many books to count, but I can say with certainty that I hate Dickens. My favorite books growing up were The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and the Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman. The last book I really enjoyed was Alain de Botton's Consolations of Philosophy.
I'm a music fiend: Jenny Lewis, The National, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Broken Social Scene, Teddy Thompson, Cat Power, James Blake, Phantogram, Neko Case, Florence and the Machine, Beach House, Josh Ritter, Lana Del Rey....could go on forever here.
Last movie I saw is easily in my top 5 - My Week With Marilyn.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
