About Me
Hi travelers!
We can't host you currently as we are travelling around Europe but here are some places to see in Geneva:
This city has all kinds of concerts, poetry lectures, exhibitions, movies, performance-theater-dance events...
Here is the website with genevese cultural events: https://ladecadanse.darksite.ch/
"Le bain des paquis": a very nice associative coffee-restaurant on shore of the lake with a great atmosphere, secure bathing areas, child-playing structures and even a sauna!
They have the best quality-price fondue but as it's summer maybe you don't feel like eating it! As it's held by an association who fights to keep this place public, there is a 2chf entry.
Behind the train station you'll find some alternative bars whom associative nightlife have the most affordable prices in Geneva.
There is also the most popular bar Street called "rue de l'ecole de medecine" in the neighbourhood of plainpalais with great atmosphere.
I warmly suggest the "bout d'la rue" also named "bdr" with the greatest atmosphere with its typical carts game tournament one Sunday of two.
There is also "La barge des lavandières": a bar-caravan in a half-Island on the Rhone river. It's very close to the dam and there is a lot of current so don't try to swim!!!
"La plaine de plainpalais" has it's popular market on Wednesdays and caravans with food from many places on Sundays. Near, there is the very peaceful cementory called "cimetière des rois". In fact, the word peaceful applies to the city overall.
"Carouge" is a very charming neighbourhood, walking in its tiny streets almost feels like beeing in Italy as it was mostly developed by Italian architects during the first world war.
You'll find beautiful promenades on the shore of the river Rhone which joins the other river called Arve. This point is called Jonction and is worth seeing!
All parks are nice and pleasant but our favorites are:
-"Parc la grange" which has bbq areas and is very green but closes at night.
-"Parc des bastions" famous for it's wall that used to protect the "vieille ville" and where are the statues of the calvinists reformers and the university. You will find giant chess and checkers sets.
The "vieille ville" is small but well conserved and it worths seeing the cathedral. From its top you'll have a beautiful wiew of the city. We didn't mention the water stream but we guess you've heard of it!
We hope you will enjoy this peaceful city and culturally lifefull ;)

Hi hosts! We are Joce and Alex :)
We’re two Genevese friends who mainly like travelling and discover cultures and customs. Currently, we’re going to travelling around Europe with Interrail. So we actually are looking for any accommodations.
Long story short:
We are born hardly at the same time and place. We’ve met in Art School and share our interest for arts, dance, philosophy, and some astrological stuffs. We practise House dance and Music and we ought to live our journey through these doings a lot, maybe by sharing with people we encounter.
Maybe because of that, we are pretty sensitive to energy beneath people we talk with. So we can assure that we use to be respectful to any kind of personality. This state of mind is very important for us and we hope that it can be felt in return the most of times. Maybe it can sometimes make us a little bit shy, but not annoying.
We both have multicultural tendencies, history and thoughts that we shared in any occasion. That’s make us in mostly time, very open-minded, curious and comprehensive. We are funny, bubly and eccentric. We get along easily with people and like to give’em some help.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
hmm... Why Couchsurfing ?
To be honest, we heard a lot about, but we’re experiencing it.............................. (We are brand new here XD)
Also we seek accommodations for our current trip, but we really want to disover cities through local eyes and thoughts, and hopefully to get some friends. Anyway, if you can give us some advices or considerations for our plan, we’ll be glad and grateful.
Presently, we can’t assure we have some cosy place to house you if you pass by Geneva (both of us have very tiny place and one of us is getting to move on), we are sorry for that. But if you want, we’ll gladly afford to take you for visiting the city, giving some advices or hangouts.
