ABOUT ME

The bond connecting us all - I seek to pull that visibly, tangibly into my immediate world.

We won't remember days, trips, events - only moments. We'll forget the day's well-laid plans and remember only the endless laughter that had us gasping for hours on end as legs dangled out of car windows and up at the night sky. The ebb and flow of words against serene silence as legs lounged on docks, water glistening under the brilliant moon. The blackout that gifted us with hours of conversation in the most incredible setting of pitch-black darkness punctuated with grand flashes of lightning, thunder roaring just beyond the lobby's bay windows. Legs flopping about on the living room rug, us doubled over in laughter at our incredulous luck to experience all that we do together, hearts brimming with happiness far beyond the reach of our vocabulary.

So we can only laugh, the peals of laughter the absolute closest sound we can reach in expressing the immense joy within. Let's make so many moments every single day that, stitching them together, we'll have recounted our entire day, week, year - life.

PHILOSOPHY

We are all mirrors reflecting energy onto each other, and we always get to choose what we turn the energy received - or rather, perceived - from others into before reflecting it back into our world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing experiences, conversations, joy, memories. Connection and laughter are primary objectives, followed closely by food.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It never ceases to amaze me how perspectives and awareness evolve with each new person we meet. With each new set of values, hopes, dreams, sorrows, fears, memories, loves, pains we encounter, we learn, we grow, we change in ways we never could have imagined. It is beyond astounding the potential for impact each and every one of us hold in our hands - in the lives we each lead, in the ripples we each send out in our own unique way. A most beautiful continuum, humanity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As incredibly profound as many experiences have been, watching a stranger's face change as emotions wash over its lines and blankness turns to puzzlement turns to surprise melts slowly to a warm glow of gratitude and joy, sometimes even comfort, is still to this day by far the most humbling experience I am blessed to witness. And so often, it's from nothing more than a heartfelt greeting or word of gratitude.

It's beyond words how the most minute of genuine gestures can result in such tremendous exchanges.

July 2015: There is no word in existence that I know of to describe the feeling of having crossed paths with my soul's twin. Endless laughter and conversation going from the most heartfelt of topics to the silliest jokes in the blink of an eye, not one hiccup of any day able to break the ever-present flow of joy. And if marshmallow Nerf gun battles and tree houses and blanket forts and living room picnics and stargazing on lakeside docks and cross-country road trips and skydiving and will-it-waffle parties appeal to you, I've a brother I think you'd love to meet.

Teach, Learn, Share

Real hugs, genuine laughs, and authentic smiles are the best medicine. All requiring one thing: connection - be it with another wonderful human being, the glory of life itself, or the beauty within you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A friend. A companion to explore and experience our beautiful world with. An obsession with connection and conversation, knowledge and culture, cooking and dancing. A curious mind and an attentive heart. A lust for life and laughter from deep within, with crinkled eyes and aching jaws. Memories warm and silly. And hugs.
