About Me

CURRENT MISSION

eat, drink, and be merry.

ABOUT ME

i'm super-curious. i like frisbee. i like running around and breaking a good sweat. i like exploring novel cities and re-exploring familiar ones. i like reading. i like brains. and monkeys. and evolution. i like talking. i like intensity. i like dancing poorly -- and those who want to dance poorly with me. i like good beer. i like sitting by rivers with good books, good beers, and good people -- or at least two of the three. i like challenges. i like spontaneity. i like meeting people. i like gesticulating. i like fellow gesticulators. i like people whose voices speed up when they talk about something that they care about.

PHILOSOPHY

i want to go study brains and be a prof and stuff. but if that doesn't work out, here's my backup plan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barefoot_bandit

Music, Movies, and Books

music -- mgmt, phoenix, boards of canada, magic man, the decemberists, YACHT, tv on the radio, the antlers, the dirty projectors, throw me the statue, discovery, an unhealthy love of mash-ups

books -- whatever i'm currently reading or just read - right now: the metaphysical club, the age of wonder, a moveable feast, the nature of scientific revolutions -- and a few stable ones: the blank slate, the ancestor's tale, zen & the art of motorcycle maintenance, salinger

movies -- annie hall, manhattan, good will hunting

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmm -- an amazing recent thing i did was spontaneously road trip to quebec for a night with a friend. we just decided to go and went. the sunset over the st lawrence with a good friend and some good beer -- that feeling of "god, isn't life good?" -- if not "amazing", that was certainly very good.

Teach, Learn, Share

as a never-employed recent graduate of a liberal arts college, i don't understand this idea of "practical skills."

with that being said -- um, i guess i could throw a frisbee with you? i mostly would want to grab a good beer, find a nice spot, and talk -- i bet we'd both learn a bit.

Bolivia, Canada, France, Guatemala, Laos, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Saint Lucia, Thailand, Turkey, Viet Nam
