About Me
Hi there, my name is Alex Latus.
I am an American currently looking to depart on some traveling and wandering at this point in my life, definitely domestically as well as hopefully soon enough, internationally.
I am a very positive, level headed and optimistic person that likes to approach people and the world with an open mind and an open heart. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt as I have come to believe we are all generally looking for the same things in life.
I am very curious and interested in what the world and it's people have to offer for us all to learn and share together. I've realized that the only way we gain true perspective and understanding is to get out there and immerse ourselves in it. It makes us very small and humble and at the same time makes the world as much smaller and connected place, in a very beautiful way.
I have lived several places, primarily spending most of my life in Indianapolis, IN USA, also having lived in California and Arizona. In my past (professional) life I was working within Product Development/Project Management positions at musical instrument companies. My professional aspirations still lay within the musical instrument world, but hopefully I will be able to work for a smaller, boutique (non-corporation, non-investment firm owned) company, where I am able to be much more hands on and involved with the instruments themselves, rather than the business side of things.
I am passionate, optimistic, outgoing, friendly, flexible, adaptable and very grateful for any and every opportunity life brings me across, no matter how big or small.
What I live by:
Be yourself, never settle for less than what's best or what's in your heart, love unconditionally and always be quick to forgive, always offer a helping hand, and as always treat others with kindness and understanding, a smile goes a long, long way.
And by the grace of one of the greats Mr. Bowie - "Freak Out, Far Out, In Out"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I would like to see the world in a unique and interesting way. Just as importantly, I would like to connect with and meet new people along the way. I believe the only way we really gain true perspective and insight to this world is by getting out there and experiencing it firsthand. I plan to do some extensive traveling for some time and think this would be just a fantastic way to do so.
Unfortunately I am not able to host at this time, due to my very near departure for my travels.
Once I am settled in a new and permanent residence I would absolutely love to host when I am able.
Interests
My greatest passion is music. Playing it, listening to it, going out to see it being performed, and everything in between. There is nothing more gratifying to me, spiritually, emotionally, physically or mentally, then playing music (very loudly haha), going to see a band perform, or discovering new music from others, or listening to older favorites.
I also really enjoy being out in nature and taking in the beauty our world has to offer.
Alongside being out in nature, I really love traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people. I really enjoy movies and reading as well.
Also, while I'm not that great at it, I really enjoy cooking.
Some of my other interests are bike riding, yoga, meditation, writing, running, and plenty of other things....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled different places within the world (outside of my home country) and met some amazing and different thinking people!
Teach, Learn, Share
Very important things to help the world become a better place. Never stop teaching, learning, or sharing...
Every street is an adventure
And every road becomes a thrill
Every turn we take
And every decision that we don't make
Even the decisions we don't make
Will bring us into the secrets of the town
Every corner we turn will lead us
Every corner we turn will lead us down the labyrinth
And every desire that we earn
Will guide us, alive, living, loving and searching
And searching
So where do we go from here?
Just about anywhere
