CURRENT MISSION

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Back on the road again and now I want to discover the world. Basically, I am really interested in social sciences, politic, literature, circus and music. I am an easy going guy who like to try local food, especially THE one you have to taste. Otherwise I like to spend good time talking with people and get to know the nicest places to hang out. I like good beer (or the local stuff) and good meal :). I found that going directly in the day to day life time is the best approach to find real people.

I've been hosting few people a couple of years ago and I always did enjoy to meet people from others countries that are whiling to exchange about where they come from and their experience has travelers. Over the lasts years, it was my turn to travel. Although, I could have use couchsurfing more, I instead decide to simply go as the road was presenting itself, living on the edge of the main society (mostly in Canada and USA) and simply finding my way through it. I've been hobo-travelling like that for the last 7 years so far and it has been a big life changing for me. But now, I want to see a different approach to travel and couchsurfing seems a good way to (re)start hehehe.

Interests

I am a street performer, basically playing banjo and singing, and thus, it obvioulsy makes me whiling to jam (play music for fun) with people I meet on the road. I am super open to learn traditionnal playing and regional style of music, and also, to share some of the different style I've learn on the road, plus some style from where I come from. I also play guitar, bass and mandolin.

Also, I am a circus performer, basically doing fire manipulation with poi and firebreathing. I did some renegade gig in some music festivals, but never got it to a professionnal form yet. I am whiling to teach basic flow circus (mostly poi though) if you're interest into. I can also teach fire breathing if we can find the right equipment to be safe.

Plus, I got a degree in anthropology, which gives a hint on my interest over others cultures. I actually specialize myself on indigenous cultures from the northeastern so-called Canada. My degree also did cover archaelogy and linguistic. Yet, I haven't decided to work in my domain. I think I went more to University for curiosity and intellectual stimulation then to find an actual job (which in anthropology is pretty rare anyway). So far, I am more interest to discover the world by my own experience then to have an office or researcher job that will let me only have a very small time to do so... or plenty when I could retired and be too old to actually travel the way I want.
