My Name is Alex - I am originally from Wellington where I was born, my mum is Kiwi and dad is British, family moved to UK - London when I was 6 and I grew up and lived and worked for 18 years. I returned to NZ in March 2010, lived in Wellington for 9 months and recently moved to Auckland for work. I live in central Auckland and like meeting new and interesting people and making friends, I have a number of friends in Wellington but new to Auckland and have only a few friends and family in Auckland, I look to make new friends where possible and always up for a chat.

I'd like think I'm an interesting and fun and cheeky person to be with, I'm a very open, genuine, friendly, affectionate, honest, relaxed / out going, loving person with a easy to relate to personality, caring and respectful to others as well, I have a witty and sometimes sarcastic sense of humour.

I have hosted in my Wellington flat for many months and want to do the same Auckland for fellow couch surfers here.

Interests

I like being outdoors, playing sports (rock climbing, football, cycling, swimming, ski, go-carting, paint balling, walks / hiking) also enjoy gardening, and being creative / hands-on and practical - cooking, DYI and general handyman stuff (yes Im house trained :P) I also like playing chess, poker and other card games. I love travelling and visiting new countries and experiencing new cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into all sorts of music, band wise - prodigy, red hot chilli peppers, meat loaf, queen (just to name a few) my favourite types of music that I love dancing to is house, trance, dance, club, break beats / dub step :) i dont mind classical, jazz, soul, and most other types of music, Im not a huge fan of is heavy metal, heavy rock, etc..

I like a variety of movies and films, have a wide rang in interests - Sci-fi, action, horror, comedy, drama and even rom com. As for TV shows, friends, simpsons, family guy, 2 and half men, top gear, Black adder, fawlty towers, lie to me, hells kitchen (with Gordon Ramsey), kitchen nightmares... just to name a few.. :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been to parts of Europe, America, UK and NZ, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I lived in UK for 18 years and the rest of the time I have lived in NZ for at least 7 years. I am a born Kiwi though.

I work in IT tech support, have had back stage engineer experience (lighting, sound, constructing and dismantling of stage sets) Have good DIY, gardening and general hands-on skills.
