About Me

Hi there! After dreaming for years of taking off and becoming a nomad, I finally decided to stop mucking about and make it happen. The plan, such as it is, is for me to travel and work abroad for as long as I can manage; and if I can make that into my life, then all the better.

I'm an extroverted introvert- I love meeting new people and spending time out on the town, but I also greatly value the time I have to myself to just relax and recharge. I'm quite easygoing and open to having all kinds of new experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Obviously I'd like to keep housing costs down as much as I can while I'm wandering around on my travels, but more importantly I just want to get to know people who actually *live* in the areas I'm staying in. It's my goal to get acquainted with the heart and soul of wherever I am as best as I can, and I think one of the best ways to do that is to spend time with *you* and hear about your experiences living there.

Interests

I love outdoors activities just as much as I love more toned down past times: one day could see me hiking and climbing a '14er in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, while the next I'll be curled up with a good book and a beer on the couch (probably also moaning about sore I am from the previous day). Camping, climbing (I'm a novice, but I still enjoy it), wandering aimlessly through town, relaxing at a coffee shop or pub and people watching, seeing some band play in a little hole-in-the-wall venue, binge watching some show that's been out for years but I only just managed to hear about... The list goes on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year in a service program leading a team of young adults in disaster recovery and relief. We lived, traveled, and worked together during that time, and I was able to make some lifelong friends with an incredibly diverse range of folks. It is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I've had in my (relatively short) life; while I wouldn't do it again, I also wouldn't give it away for anything.
