CURRENT MISSION

I'm road tripping around the country, just me and my dog, to cut ties with my former life and figure out what my next stage of life will be. i know it's cliche, but i want to figure out myself and what i want out of life so i can start planning getting it

ABOUT ME

now im just a girl who likes to write stories and hang w her dog.
i have a great dane named nelson. He's 2 yrs old, all black (and therefore prone to overheating), and very very lazy. he sleeps 18 hours a day. He's incredibly gentle and loves people and has never even barked, let alone snarled or threatened anyone. he will protect me, but only when i feel very unsafe. he's generally just a big lazy dude. (he's fixed, btw.) he does like to sleep in bed w me, but can sleep on the floor if thats an issue.

PHILOSOPHY

i value integrity, i dont like to be lied to and have a policy of only telling the truth and expect that from anyone speaking to me. i value open, honest communication and cannot tolerate passive aggression. i believe people when they tell me things, and am not interested in social games. i like truth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was a surfer on the road from mid july til mid november, and now have an apartment with another surfer, where we host surfers. i'll also be surfing if i decide to take a vacation from stable living

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

well when i joined i was crashing with one of my best best friends, who was staying in a house in UT she found through this site - so im like a deputy couch-surfer. its been great, i kind of feel like the other shoe is gonna have to drop soon. i am quite literally stunned by the generosity and hospitality this host has shown to me and to my beast - he's gentle and sweeter than sugar, but i understand that having a dog this big around your house can be disruptive (even though he sleeps all the time and is even sleeping next to me right now!). this host hasn't even flinched in his hospitality. ive never met anyone like that and the friend who invited me here assured me that everyone she's met through this site has been that way.

Music, Movies, and Books

im currently reading infinite jest. salinger is my favorite author. i also love don delillo, hemingway, and ts eliot. im also getting into some japanese writers right now that i really dig.
musically, i live for rock and roll, but am cultivating an interest in the blues and a little country. i also dig dubstep, some electro stuff, some pop stuff, but id rather not ever hear lady gaga's name spoken, and i certainly dont want to hear her music. i dont dislike her, i just have some personal issues with her that im still working through.
i dont know enough about film but would love to learn.
im open to suggestions in each of these areas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i am adopted, and the most amazing thing i have done is re-discover my biological family and truly becoming my mother's daughter while maintaining an amazing relationship with my parents - theyre even friends with each other. that is a hell of a thing.
