About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world, meet new people, and learn as much as I can while I'm at it.
Oh and have a bit of fun in the process. ;)
ABOUT ME
I am a young professional that likes to engage in different cultures and learn about different people, cultures, and ideas. I teach international students, and travel a bit.
PHILOSOPHY
Go; get lost. Do what you have never done before.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Very little I'm afraid, but I hope do more and at least meet more people. Mostly I participate while out of the country as a way to meet others and make connections in the world I am visiting. I hate being a tourist.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed with one person - I had a really great time with him and his family. Later, he stayed with me. Have meet other couch-surfers to hangout and run about the city and I have gone to the local meet ups , which surprisingly was quite nice. In the Madrid meeting, there were so many interesting people from all over the world from so many walks of life, it was veritable "Canterbury Tales" set up.
Sadly, at home, I am generally tied to the desk and rarely have such an exciting view of things.
Interests
I read a lot, but mostly for work and research. I am attempting to get back into pleasure reading. I enjoy cooking, movies, hiking, swimming, rafting, and canoeing. I like watching people play - move and do around family, friends, and people they love. People are my chief interest - I want to know it all: why, how, and when...

Music, Movies, and Books
Love reading and watching movies, and have a nice collection of both books (about 5000 books) and movies (about 300 DVDs). I read and watch most things, but I like to think that I only do things with a tangible purpose, i.e. the book or movie I have invested my time in will teach me something.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had so many "best" moments. Skiing the Andes, camping three weeks Appalachians, Canoe fights on the Chattahoochee, Hiking the Cerra Roble in Chile, Getting lost in Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Hiking in Borneo, Malaysia, Running the town in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bar hopping with the Koreans in Seoul and the markets in Busan and Seoul. Well there have been a ton of amazing things. Perhaps I done more in a year than many will get to do in a lifetime.
The most amazing thing is perhaps the connections made and sustained. One friend from Seoul came to visit and stayed a week, others have kept in contact over the last couple of years. These are the greatest things.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I'm a teacher, mostly people want to learn, but I still like listening and learning about others - their cultures, ideas, and people they like and look up to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can talk , share stories, and experiences. I don't have many expectations of needs. I like things simple. And if someone what's something, lets see about that.
