About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do the least amount of work possible whilst enjoying life as much as possible. Meet new friends in Portland.

ABOUT ME

Probably that I have a terrible work ethic and love to do the least amount of work possible to enjoy life - which involves photography, and spending extended periods with friends, talking and laughing. Also, they would say that I love tacos. Because I love tacos. Wanna get some?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the past couple years, I've uprooted from Minneapolis and moved to Los Angeles, and now Portland. I've couch surfed when I was between official residences - I don't lead a totally nomadic lifestyle, although that is one I respect.

Interests

Photography is what consumes most of my attention and free time - I shoot landscapes and architecture. I'm obsessed with mountains and beautiful landscapes, hence my recent move to the Pacific Northwest. Photography drives me to be into hiking, camping, and road trips.

Other than that, anything intellectually stimulating - computers, space, science, Wikipedia, etc.

More "standard" interests: food, good beer, football (I'm a huge Green Bay fan, hailing from Wisconsin originally..)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won't list the separate times, since they're all kind of similar - but anytime I've been out photographing a remote landscape under the stars. In most these situations I've been alone, in the desert, with nothing but the sound of the wind blowing and coyotes in the distance, and the silhouettes of mountains surrounding me. Above me, the Milky Way clearly visible, along with thousands more stars than are possible to see near the light pollution of a city.. I won't lie, it can be scary being in that pitch blackness alone! But amazing. And always better with a friend.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a lot about photography or computers, and a little about guitar if you brought one.
