About Me
I'm a really laid-back guy who can have fun doing just about anything. Even if it isn't an adrenaline rush, I love stepping out of my comfort zone and engaging in new experiences.
Cities excite me - at once dynamic and permanent, they are constantly in motion and evolving to their inhabitants yet they are immobile. No two cities are the same.
Nature inspires me - from mountains to forests to oceans, the perfection in a landscape cannot be replicated. No two places are the same.
I seek stimulation in cities and solitude in nature, feeling at home in both.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music -- my favorite is Americana/folk/roots music (Jason Isbell, Ray LaMontagne, Bob Dylan). I grew up on classic rock (Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones), developed a love for grunge in my angsty teenage years (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Screaming Trees), and recently found an appreciation for soul (Wilson Pickett and Clarence Carter - really anything classic Muscle Shoals, as well as new stuff like Leon Bridges and St. Paul & The Broken Bones)
Movies -- I bartered my television for free haircuts from my barber because I never used it, but what little I watch typically falls into the psychological thriller/dark drama category (Gone Girl, Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, Breaking Bad) or offbeat comedies (500 Days of Summer, Parks & Rec, How I Met Your Mother).
Books - I read mostly nonfiction, primarily about architecture and urban design. I'm probably the only 23 year old who has read 1,000+ pages about parking spaces. That said, when I am in the mood for fiction I find myself drawn to Hemingway - I'm captivated by his ability to tells stories with such depth despite (or perhaps because of) his economy with words.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've run with the bulls in Pamplona, skydived in Kansas, ziplined in Puerto Rico, surfed in Hawaii, and slept on a park bench in Amsterdam. But I'm a firm believer that the things we do are better as stories than words on a screen.
