About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Continue my adventure in the American West (and beyond). I have become quite the wildlands explorer since I moved to Denver in 2011 and, because the region is so vast and there are so many mountains to climb, towns to visit, and colorful rock outcroppings to ponder, my current mission is to continue this epic life adventure I've gotten myself into.

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun loving guy that is always up for a good time or a new adventure. I like to learn, too. Whether it be by meeting new people and seeing things from a new perspective or learning through experience, I'm a sponge for knowledge. I especially like learning about cities, cultures, and protected areas. I find the built human environment, and its balance with the natural, so fascinating that I plan to make it my career. Currently in graduate school; I'm going to become the best planner I can be. I think that if we can make cities livable and efficient, we can have the best of both worlds. Oh, and I like to party often.

PHILOSOPHY

"Burn calories, not carbon!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Provide a couch for travelers visiting or passing through Denver and hoping that others can do the same for me as I travel through their cities. I also very regularly participate in local CS gatherings here in Denver.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In November 2010, I went off on a two week couch surfing journey across the United States. It was one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I did something similar again with a friend in October 2011 on our way to our new lives in Denver! I'm also excited to host in my city to show fellow couch surfers the same love I got on my travels. I've met some really cool people as a host. The community in Denver is the best I've seen and I really enjoy the CS 'family' I seem to have found here. My travels continue!

Interests

Exploring new places, meeting new people, and frequent social gatherings keep me happy. I love finding out more about both the built and natural environments. And I LOVE me a good beer (or 5).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a culmination of my intimate knowledge of Western landscapes, I was lucky enough to, following President Obama's executive order establishing it, develop a Visitor Use Management Strategy for Colorado's Browns Canyon National Monument for my Master's thesis.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could talk to you all day about both urban development and wilderness preservation in America. Please, do ask.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Very well-mannered guest who is eager to share travel stories and continue learning about the world. I've been a Couchsurfing member for nearly seven years; glad this site still accomplishes its original purpose. Thank you for your participation!
