ABOUT ME

Just finished my degree in Environmental Engineering last year, working as a contaminant hydrogeologist now. I love it! It basically involves driving around the bush (Australian for forest / countryside) in a 4WD.

I play in some bands in Melbourne on the bass guitar, mainly in a Turkish reggae band. I have toured around Turkey, Australia and some of Europe with this band, amazing experiences.

I like to laugh as much as I can, I consider myself easy going, friendly and respectful. I enjoy conversations, I like to find out about the people I stay with and the place I'm in. I like to travel with an open mind, respecting the people and cultures of wherever I am.

I have found that everywhere I have visited, people are pretty much the same deep down- we're generally all just try to get along and live. In this respect you will find me down to earth and accepting.

I dislike staying at backpackers hostels... I prefer to meet locals, which is why Couchsurfing is amazing!

I enjoy bars and clubs and pubs, and also outdoors activities like camping, scuba diving, hiking, snowboarding, surfing, all that!

PHILOSOPHY

Respect. Think of the person who will come after you, think of the person who is there already. We are here on earth to play around, don't take life too seriously.

Music, Movies, and Books

Blues Brothers. I dunno, I like lots of movies.

Reggae, Hip Hop, World, Rock, Classical, Blues, Jazz, Electronic... I have 80gb of various stuff on my ipod which is all regularly listened to. I pretty much like all music. But not Opera so much. Or Country and Western.

Vonnegut, Bukowski, Hemmingway, Some Australian authors you probably won't know, I guess I've been reading old classics lately. But I really like reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played an outdoor concert in Istanbul at a bar where there were something like 1000 people walking up the street and sitting at the bars around us. As far as I could see down the street people were dancing and cheering, they completely blocked off the roads through sheer numbers so cars couldn't get through and they scared the police off when they tried to shut us down!

I want to learn about your culture and where you live. I want to know where I can travel to to see some nature, and also where I can go to party.

I want to share music and laughter. I want to teach about Australia. This isolated place on the other side of the world from everywhere else!
