About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in the moment

ABOUT ME

Living in Doha, Qatar for 6 months. Came here with no expectations but within a few short days I was welcomed into a friendly and special community of people. It was so beautiful to feel a sense of belonging in a foreign city. Because of this I have met some really adventurous people, where we will go to the desert to explore, drink tea on the corniche, or just talk about life into the morning.

Personally I really enjoy talking to people and learning about their own perspective on life. It is always cool when you can relate to someone on a deeper level than the super fiscal.

PHILOSOPHY

To be open to all, If that means to give someone your time unconditionally, it is never a waste. Sometimes the only way to understand things is just to listen. It is like when in natural, the only way to experience its true beauty is not to force your own desires on it as it will never speak to you. It is only when you slow down, turn off all the inner noise that you can truly hear the rhythm, which is different for everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I attend the weekly couch surfing meeting when I have time, and extent the friendships I have made through them into my everyday life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I look forward to having many experiences in the future.

Interests

Interested in exploring the world, not just the sites, but really the hearts and minds of the people. Really into cooking and always attempt to make the old family recipes that I remember eating as a kid. Usually they work, but there is always that time that you forget something in the oven !!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The past 2 years have been amazing, traveling to over 20 countries. One memory that sticks out the most was this one night in Italy / Switzerland. It was 11pm we had plans to stay in a hostel in lake como, having driven there in the afternoon from Milan. So we had finished dinner and a good friend of mine wanted to go for a drive and see the Italian border with Swiss. Driving through there beautiful mountain passes we decided to keep driving through these amazing hair pin turns and made it to the top of the Swiss Alps at 3am. Middle of summer it is 3 degree, freshest air I have ever tasted, all you could seeing was a billion stars and the faint outline of distant mountains so magical. After this we decided to drive on for another 3 hours to Zurich. It was the craziest but most amazing night ever !

Teach, Learn, Share

Survival guide to the Australian Bush !! Always carry 2 sticks when walking.. this will ensure that when you are confronted by an any Kangroo protecting her Joeys that one will be used so she grabs onto it and other to scare her away. Snakes: If you see one just stop moving, snakes have really bad visions and mainly locate things through the use of sensing the vibrations in the earth. so if you stop still they will walk straight by you :) Happy bush bashing.
