À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to balance: the unexamined life is not worth living and ignorance is bliss. Tough one.
ABOUT ME
From my studies of psychoanalysis, I've learned that I'm made up of a lot of contradictions:
Fun and outgoing/quiet and thoughtful
Athletic, love sports/aches and pains (why do my knees hurt so much for a 25-year old??)
Love to travel alone/love to be with friends and meet people
Love taking pictures/love being in the moment without a camera
Love to read/love to talk
Cultured/down for a party (e.g. I will wake up early after partying to go to a museum)
and so on
PHILOSOPHY
To explore, to learn, to meet others, to get to know myself and others through my relationships, to love, to laugh. Traveling combines a lot of these things I think.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I use it as a cornerstone of my traveling experiences. So far, this has only taken me to couches in Europe, but I hope to expand my reach in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Fantastic. I've couchsurfed with friends across the US and Europe. I've always had a great time and really think it's one of the best ways to travel! Whether meeting up for a drink or staying at someone's place, CS has never disappointed.
Centres d'intérêt
Photography: been shooting for 9+ years now. Black and white, digital, whatever.
Ultimate Frisbee: been playing for 6+ years now, absolutely love it. I'll be happy to teach you!
Sustainability: how are we going to keep traveling for one thing?
Basketball: favorite sport to watch. Go Celtics!
Theater: I never get to go enough, but I love watching plays!
Jazz, blues, souuulful music, particularly live.
Art, art, art. Old guys: Delacroix, Ingres, Van Gogh, Klimt, Rodin. Many, many photographers. Contemporary artists too, but I'm not good with their names! Museums are some of my favorite places in the world.
Movies, of course, but that seems to be universal in the Couchsurfing world.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I love talking to others about psychoanalysis. Not just medically, but as a way of viewing the world. I think it's poorly understood and I would love to spread the gospel of uncertainty, thoughtfulness, and ambiguity.
Also love to teach people how to play frisbee. What a fun game!
I can also teach you some Greek if you want, but damn, it's a hard language.
Taking photographs together is fun, I'd love to do that. And I can teach you how to use the manual settings on your camera in about 5 minutes. It's a lot easier than people think!
