Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed all across Europe. I also hosted in Chicago. Looking to do some more surfing in Latam. It seems to be the best way to learn about the culture and off the beaten path experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met some really cool people and have had some great times, due in part to advice that hosts have given me. Also met some odd birds, but those stories must follow beers.

Music, Movies, and Books
As dorky as this may sound, the lord of the rings trilogy will forever be my favorite book and movies series of all time. As for music there isn't much music that I don't like. I'm usually up for going to see live performances of any good artist, no matter the genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the most amazing thing I've done was hike up an active volcano. Let me share the story with you: While I was living with my sister in Mexico City, I was in a local climbing gym and telling the instructor that I planned on backpacking up a different volcano in the area. He told me that another climber in the gym was making a movie about the biggest, and only active, volcano in the area. As soon as I started talking with the film maker about the Volcano he invited me to come with him on a trip, in which he hope to record some audio of the volcano roaring. Immediately I was in, despite the fact that the Volcano was closed to the public and neither him nor me had a permit to go to it. We drove way around so we could enter the area from a different state that didn't have a road block. We parked near the base in between some trees, so the car would be hidden. While we were hanging out close to the top (We couldn't go all the way up as it was active and could spew lava at any moment.) it rained a lot. To avoid getting soaked we decided to walk on the road out, which the film maker had never done before, for fear of the guards who regularly patrolled. My favorite part of it all was the moment that we were tiptoeing past the guard stand, with our flashlights turned off as the guards watched TV.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have entrepreneurship, marketing, survival, camping, caving, and rock climbing knowledge to share. In the past I have been a rock climbing instructor, English as a second language teacher, and assistant scout master, so I really do enjoy teaching people and sharing what I know.
