About Me

Go. See. Learn. Trade. Grow. Breathe.

I just like to relax and enjoy all the things. Going to new places and things. I don't like wearing shoes. I feel irrepressible urges to be outside, write about everything I do and take pictures of everything I see. And put my feet in the water in every corner of the world I go to... and also to have an appropriate movie quote for every situation.
I also like to be able to keep everything I own in a backpack and always leave my door unlocked in case a friend needs a place to crash.

I feel like beating the water temple was one of my greatest accomplishments in life. Don't judge me. :o)

What else? I've lived in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, Arizona, and Alaska, as well as Mexico and Peru. I have aspirations to live in as many places as I can. Things like settling down, finding a good 9-5 w/ benefits, and the so-called "American Dream" hold no appeal to me. I suffer from wander-lust and curiosity that make me always wonder what else is out there. This has led me to meet tons of cool people and has carried me into and through a lot of crazy adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like the gods, or the universe, or the Powers that Be has put so much awesomeness in every person, every place... every walk of life or opinion, every song and every thought... has a lot of value... and I... want to experience as much of all of it as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is such an awesome way to meet new people and have a more amazing world-exploring experience! I've met some super cool people through it and I can't wait to meet some more.

Interests

The usual (traveling, meeting people, novelty, music, etc.), cooking, driving, yoga, acroyogaaaaaa, movies, flipflops, watches, tattoos and piercings... and adventure. I love pipe tobacco, good coffee, good food, good grammar, and good stories. I also love disc golf, good RPGs (usually by Squaresoft), and skipping rocks.
I am always looking to learn from other people about their views on life, love, happiness, and dance moves.
I know very little about most of the things I'd like to know most about.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - I LOVE movies. 10 Things I Hate About You, P.S. I Love You, Elizabethtown, Miyazaki stuff, Zach Braff stuff, and Wes Anderson stuff. But, I mean... lots of movies.

Music - I love chill stuff - folk, bluegrass, bluesy stuff the best. Ray Lamontagne, Caedmon's Call, Nickel Creek, and the Civil Wars. But, I can get down to pretty much anything.

Books - The Wizard of Oz, the Alchemist, anything by Anne Lamott, Dante's Inferno, and umm... man, I like a lot of books. I like stories, philosophy... all kinds of stuff.
If you've got movies, books, or music to share, I'm totally interested!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Let's see... man, how do you pick one?

I've beat Tetris.

Roadtripping up the US West coast from Phoenix, AZ to Anchorage, AK was amaaazing.

And... I backpacked through Peru for a few months one time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Umm... and I'm willing to try anything, so I am sure anyone who has something to teach could amuse and amaze me for days.

I love learning new recipes, languages, and umm... I love to hear people's stories - find out who they are, what makes them tick... that kind of stuff.

I know a pretty decent amount of cool yoga and acroyoga stuff!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a certified yoga teacher, a pretty decent cook, I can proof-read a paper like nobody's business, and I can fix watches. Ooh and I can teach you to skip rocks and do a lot of acroyoga.
