About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn the stories of others and keep learning to tell my own.

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing poet with a thirst for adventure. I love to meet new people and get to know them; my friends always appreciate that I go beyond the surface when I have conversations. I am pretty flexible, and I have learned that the world offers a lot to you when your plans aren't set in stone. I'm from the United States, and as of May 2, I've been around the world in four months on a ship with Semester at Sea.

I'm always looking forward to seeing what people have to say. I'm interested in your story.

PHILOSOPHY

Life presents a lot of cannons to jump into, and you have to pick one to fly from.

I live to listen, to help others tell their story and to help them find their way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I ask questions and listen well. I never pry beyond where people let me go. I will give you the best I have, every time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

I'm a psychology major, with a special interest in narrative therapy. I love all forms of literature, but my passion is spoken word poetry. I'm also a huge fan of theatre. I want to work with adolescents in the future and help provide them with the tools they need to more effectively tell their stories, because that's how the world will change.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite classic: The Picture of Dorian Gray
Favorite Dystopian Novel: Fahrenheit 451
Favorite Series: Harry Potter (childhood favorite)
As for music, I enjoy just about anything, but I love the big band sound.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just saw 12 countries in 112 days in Asia and Africa, and I've got plenty of stories and pictures!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have given poetry workshops, and taught people how to do that work a little better. I can provide prompts or constructive critiques, as well as performance assistance.

I would love to learn more on piano, practice my Spanish, and whatever else you might offer.
