About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To instill in my son the same sense of wonder that has guided me through the world.

ABOUT ME

I am in love with traveling. I especially enjoy the unique experiences that can only be found when you get to know locals and take a chance on an adventure that's not listed in the guidebook.

My wife, Viviana, and I have traveled quite a bit. We like to use planes as little as possible, and I personally feel that traveling is as much about the journey as the destination. I have bussed down to the tip of South America, circumnavigated the USA by train, and looped through Europe by bike.

I am very easy going, and get along with just about everyone. I think I am good at reading social cues, and avoid passive-aggression.

I have recently become a father and I am excited to show my son the world, and to show him that despite what the news says, the world is full of good people that want to help you realize your dreams, even if they don't know you personally yet.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn what you can from everyone and everything. Avoid dogma.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed with a number of people, and hosted a number as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every single experience has been wonderful so far. It's hard to put these experiences in words, but they have all left a significant impact on my persona and worldview. On my South America trip I had a blast with Felipe in Santiago, Chile, saw the rugged beauty of Patagonia with Ricardo in Ushuaia, Argentina, tasted the finest meats of Buenos Aires with Julio, and partied all night with Fabio in Salvador, Brazil. Since returning to Oregon I have hosted a number of people, including Julio and his friends who we stayed with in Argentina!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In October 2017 I helped lead a search party to find my best friend that was missing in the woods. After 6 days we found him alive and hungry.

Teach, Learn, Share

If your Ipod locks up, hold down the middle button and the top of the circle for several seconds. That should fix it.

Summer sausage makes great fishing bait if you run out of squid.
