Overview
About Me
I am self-teaching myself this year (2017-2018), to take on a course in Cognitive Sciences at ENS.
This is a demanding education, and I spend most of my time staring at books and formulas.
When I am not, surprising as it may be, it turns out I am actually engaged in a variety of other activities, unrelated to the former.
Let us call some of them duties, and some of them hobbies. Overall, I have found it makes up for the best experience when both of them coincide, and can only recommend that you try it.
I will even let you in on the secret to it. There is none. Think of the allegory of the man who goes half the way around the globe in search of answers, only to find the solution was in himself from the beginning.
Or, you know, if you are not into mantras, just try and pick interesting or pallatable ones. So far, I pride myself in thinking I have been rather succesful at it, but opinions may differ on that subject and, hey I guess that's a topic open for discussion.
Aside from that, I have knack for post-its. I breed a particularly rampant kind, such that, at times, they grow all over my desk, and sometimes even on walls.
Last, but not least, although I really enjoy the company of illustrious authors, both alive and deceased alike ; I find that of actual living beings quite satisfactory as well.
Surely, the fine detectives among you have now deduced I am not very keen on sharing my intimacy publicly.
If you wish to know more about "le me", such as what shampoo brand I use (spoiler: my own), or what shoe size I wear, before considering staying over, I think it is a very sensible decision, and will do my best to quench your curiosity and alleviate your doubts (within reasonable boundaries of course).
Moreover, if asked in the proper way, in proper time, I am also open to requests for pictures of the apartment.
All in all, feel free to contact me for accomodation requests, and make sure to describe your motivations, it is the first cornerstone to a satisfying exchange.
Now, in light of all these very revelatory information about myself, you may proceed to scroll down for hosting-related details.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Simply put, I find hope in the idea that people can build communities, built on the understanding that there is a greater scheme than immediate personal gain.
I reside in a 55m² apartment, in Paris.
There are two rooms with bed, one is a discrete bedroom, the other, a living room with a convertible sofa.
Bathroom and restroom are accessible to both, which makes for a happy cohabitation !
As I mentioned, I spend most of the time studying, and therefore occupy the living room to that effect.
Depending on circumstances, we can swap interchangeably the allocation of rooms (e.g. I don't mind sleeping in the living room).
I have a personal and ethical kinship to certain criterias (others may call them biases), such as:
- If you're traveling through ecological means (train, bicycle, hiking, on the back of some kind of organic living thing, or heck surprise me) [Note: Neither taking the plane on the back of someone else, nor turtles all the way down qualifies for this category,]
- If you include the word anguilliform in your message, this way I get to know just how creative you can get, and whether you've actually read at least part of my profile
- If you're traveling for purpose of bettering yourself, humanity, or the world in general (studying, arts, conferences, projects, etc.)
And so on.
Some additional considerations:
- This is primarily for accomodation:
Due to aforementioned occupations, I won't have a lot of free time.
If you are essentially looking for someone to show you around, or a companion to spend a lot of time with, it may be preferable for you to find someone so inclined.
That being said, if you agree on this, I am flexible and willing to make sure you get the most out of your stay. I will gladly spend time with you during my breaks, give you pointers, help you review your choices, discuss what ingredients make up for the best salads, or what is the meaning of life, and whatnot.
- I have a cat.
- No smoking inside the apartment, but there is a (narrow) balcony you may use to that effect.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like the kind with pages, and possibly with ink on them.
Now, can you guess my favorite Music and Movies ?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, probability-wise, being born seem like a good candidate. So that makes us both amazing.
Then, not having Facebook certainly comes next.
Other than that, it appears just enjoying things that are not amazing, is pretty amazing in itself nowadays. So, that.
