About Me

I can host you in co-living. I live near the historical neighborhood of Kyiv, Podil. It's near 12 mins by foot from Kontraktova square. It will be better if you will have a sleeping bag with you.

My name is Alex. Just a typical hitchhiker and web-developer. One interesting thing about me is that I try to play on different musical instruments walking on stilts. I've tried to play on guitar, drums, violin, ukulele, piano and recorder. Also, I made bagpipe, but now it is broken. Some people say that I am a creative person, but I don't know is it true or not yet. All I know is that I like to write music, paint pictures, write stories, take part in student theatre in my university and create musical instruments.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hitchhicking and couchsurfing help me to meet some new friends around the world. What can be better?

Interests

People and places: I like open-minded people. When I travel I like to explore new cities and places and I look for gothic and neogothic architecture.
History: One of my hobbies is history but I like a history of my country, Poland and others close lands.
Art: I like surrealism and visiting contemporary art galleries
Festivals: I was on many festivals in Ukraine and I liked many of them. My favourite festival called Shypit. It is located near a waterfall with the same name in Carpathian mountains near Volovets. The best festival which I visited is Graspop 2016 near Dessel, Belgium
Theatre: As I am a part of student theatre in KMA I like visit theatre, but usually I don't have time.
Musical instruments: I like playing different instruments and it will be very cool if you have some.
Skateboarding: 2 years ago I fall down from skate and now I'm not so interested in it.
Hitchhiking: I've hitchhiked more than 40K km through the European Union, Norway and Ukraine. I don't count it anymore.
All countries in EU (except Lithuania and Italy) that I've visited, I've visited by hitchhiking.
I hate to be boring and bored, lose time, scare, war and traffic jams. Also, I hate noise radiation but I've learned how to prescind from it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like different music from Chopin to Behemoth.
I don't watch new movies because it takes a lot of time. An exception is movies by Alfred Hitchcock.
I like Ukrainian modern literature and the problem is that I like it so much that I don't read some foreign modern literature. My favorite novelist is Andruhovych and my favorite poet is Chubaj. It's very common for me that I will forget plot of book, so don't ask what I've read)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've tried hitchhiking with a broken hand in winter on my own through Poland. Everyone whom I met felt sorry for me and Poland is a wonderful country for hitchhiking. I've broken my hand by falling from stilts. Another amazing thing I've done is stage diving on gig when no one tried to catch me. Then I had wounds above my eyebrow and on my hands and legs.
