About Me

FYI: I haven't been an active member of the CS community for a while, and much of my profile is out of date; but this could change some day. For now I've corrected my hosting availability. It's been a pleasure so far.

CURRENT MISSION

Fill mine and others' lives with beautiful memories and outrageous stories.

ABOUT ME

I am a young professional who loves exploring. While I enjoy concerts, clubbing, and drinking; I will usually pass up a late night in the city for an early day hiking mountains and swimming lakes. I love airplanes and flight; I have experienced every stage of an airplane's life from the drawing board, design, manufacturing, and flying as pilot in command.

I tamper with music, poetry, politics, and philosophy. I especially enjoy learning about social systems and local issues that people live with in other countries.

I love to play guitar; but I rarely travel with mine. I should try a small instrument-- harmonica, maybe.

I enjoy arguing obscure points.

I get distracted easily and I often wander off of the path.

PHILOSOPHY

Never pass up a chance for a good story.

Everything oscillates.

“To build a flotilla of ships, don’t sit around and talk about carpentry. Rather set people’s souls ablaze with visions of exploring distant shores". – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"The unexamined life may not be worth living, but the life too closely examined may not be lived at all." -Mark Twain

Work hard; play hard.

Learn from the past. Live in the present. Plan for the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't surf as much as I used to; but I'd still like to host and meet up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed a fine gentleman's spare mattress in Dusseldorf after a great night on the town. This was my first couch surfing experience with a former stranger. During the same weekend, my friends and I had a great time going out with mine and another host, along with their local friends.

My second experience was in Amsterdam and my third was in Paris. I particularly enjoyed the Paris experience. Our host had an insatiable desire for hosting; I was one of twelve couch surfers that weekend. We had a great house party after a long day of exploring the city.

Couchsurfing turned grad school visits into so much more. I stayed with an awesome engineering design student while visiting Stanford. Purdue provided a hotel for me to sleep, but I still spent most of my free time with couchsurfers at a clubhouse and some bars.

I surfed with a crazy (good crazy) guy in Zurich (Switzerland) while on a long roadtrip with my girlfriend. He gave us a great night tour of the city and he didn't kill us.

I surfed in the Philly area for a few days when starting my career while homeless.

I haven't had the privilege of hosting yet.
