PHILOSOPHY
No hurry in Africa ;-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I 'm travelling somewhere, I want to get to know the people. I don't travel only to see some sights, for me the most important thing is to get in touch with locals. I can be in a new town, and I will still put building social contacts over the sightseeing aspect and I would not be disappointed about not having "seen" anything because human relations count much more to me than architecture. So what's better than couchsurfing?
Interests
I am an enthusiastic climber and I love to be outside in the nature! I love to travel around and to discover new regions, be it abroad or new places in my home country as well :)
I love reading books as well. But lately I got problems to read because during the semester I am only reading books about anatomy, biochemistry and physiology and even in my free time I would like to read serious things because I don't want to read books without learning from it, but it doesn't really work out...
Then I love handcrafting. Especially crocheting, but also knitting and I am learning how to sew my own clothes. I am interested in many other forms of handcrafting but time is simply against me.
I am passionate about baking. I like to try complicated things and let my creativity bloom. I also like cooking but there I prefer it simple. I am discovering the vegan kitchen, so actually everything I make is vegan but as soon as I am elsewhere I also eat meat and dairy products, but I really want to reduce that to an essential amount. So my cooking strategy is quite easy: Take a huge mountain of the vegetables of the season growing in my region, chop them, throw them together and enjoy the fresh and healthy meal (:
I want to continue to learn about self-sufficient lifestyles and therefore I still want to discover different ways of life and talk to a lot of people. For example about anthroposophy, permaculture,...
And I like history. Like real stories from people where you are enabled to get a notion of how it used to be in former times and not boring descriptions of person x who killed person y to become president,...

Music, Movies, and Books
I love inspirational movies such as big fish and many others (to be completed).
I spend lots of my time reading diverse literature. I love fantasy novels by Trudi Canavan, and I adore all novels by Barbara Wood, I could just eat them!
At the same time I am very interested in development issues due to my stay in Africa.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What counts as amazing surely is controversial... But there are many things. For example:
-experiencing the general training to become a soldier
-living in Togo for a year
-...being alive (:
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to keep Sokrates philosophy in mind: I know that I know nothing. So, I don't really feel as if I would know something special which I could share...
But maybe, if you're interested in learning how to crochet or knit, I can serve you...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking and also cleaning. So I won't leave any untidyness ;-)
