About Me

I am an enthusiastic and hard working person with a passion for poetry. In July 2016 I finished my undergraduate degree from the University of Manchester, reading International Management. I then began work for a sales firm back in my hometown in Epsom, whilst also doing nights behind the bar at a local pub! I quit both jobs and decided I wanted to see more of the world and South America seemed like a great place to start.

On the side I play football for my local team and I support Arsenal FC. I am also a fairly competent swimmer who loves scuba diving. I am yet to obtain my PADI but I intend on doing that at some point during this trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently travelling with my best friend through Central and South America. We started in Nicaragua, travelling for roughly 6 months and aiming to finish in Argentina! We are travelling on a low budget and are moving about a lot, so we are looking for a place to stay for a night or two on our journey.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music genre is hip hop, as I currently produce rap music so its something I am extremely interested in. Artist wise I highly rate Eminem and Mac Miller, along with a bunch of UK rappers, most of whom are part of the music label high focus. I also listen to indie/rock and have been known to be partial to a spot of classical music.

My favourite book is A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. When studying English as a subject at school I wrote a piece comparing dystopian reality's so I have a real interest in the way different authors depict the future through language. There is a show on Netflix called Black Mirror which focuses on present day technology portrayed in the future, usually with a dark twist. It draws many parallels with the Twilight Zone.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a wealth of knowledge regarding European football so if you fancy discussing why Bayern Munich monopolise the bundesliga, or whether Arsene Wenger's contract extention was the correct decision for Arsenal, I'm your guy! I also enjoy discussing international politics and affairs. If you have an interest in music, I would love to teach people to freestyle as it is something I love doing on the daily.
