i´ve just spent 6 months in the u.s, where i hiked the pacific crest trail between may and october. pure magic! now i'm riding my bike from mexico to colombia and i hope to meet interesting folk along the way.

a dreamer, adventurous, laid back, positive, friendly, somewhat absent-minded and disorganised. i try and enjoy the simple things in life, reading a book while slouched in a hammock, cooking a meal and sharing it with friends, long walks in nature, climbing trees, and travelling by bike (journeys both short and long). i´m also learning to play the trumpet and speak portuguese, and i'm partial to spending money i don´t have on records and carving things out of wood (mainly spoons!).

i'm also an avid photographer with a particular interest in landscape and street photography, photojournalism, alternative techniques (like lumen prints and cyanotypes) and pinhole photography. i love trying to tell stories about the places i visit and people i meet through my lens, my favourite way of exploring a new place is wandering around it with my camera, looking up and around instead of at a map or guidebook, wandering around without a destination and ducking down any random streets or alleys that catch my eye.

I spent the last two and a half years living in bristol, england, where i worked as a teaching assistant in primary schools and also with young people with disabilities, while studying for a translation diploma which i passed in january.
before moving to bristol i spent a year teaching in spain and 3 years living and working in south america, a place that i feel has always called me and i'm really grateful to have had the chance to explore it and discover a bit about its people and cultures, although i feel i could spend a lifetime there and still find things that fascinate me and take my breath away. in between six months travelling around the continent in 2011/12 and another six in 2013, i took a 2 year breather from travelling in colombia, a place that will always hold a special place in my heart- if you let me i'll bash your ears for hours raving about it, so be warned.

acabo de pasar 6 meses en los ee.uu donde atravesé el país a pie por el sendero pacific crest trail, una experiencia mágica. ahora ando viajando en bici desde méxico hasta colombia y espero conocer gente interesante en el camino.

me considero una persona soñadora, intrépida, simpática, relajada, positiva, y algo despistada y desorganizada. trato de disfrutar las cosas sencillas de la vida, tales como leer un buen libro tirado en una hamaca, cocinar algo rico y compartirlo con amigos, caminar durante horas en la naturaleza, y viajar en bicicleta (ya sea viajes cortos o largos). además de eso, estoy aprendiendo a tocar la trompeta y hablar portugués, y me gusta gastar plata que no tengo en discos de vinilo y hacer escultura en madera (principalmente cucharones!).

también soy fotógrafo apasionado, con un interés particular en la fotografí­a callejera y de paisajes y el fotoperiodismo, y también técnicas alternativas (como construir cámaras esteinopeicas y hacer cianotipos). me fascina tratar de contar historias a través del lente de los lugares que visito y las personas que conozco. mi manera predilecta de explorar un nuevo lugar es deambulando con mi cámara, mirando por todos lados en vez de mirar un mapa o una guí­a turí­stica, explorando sin destino y metiéndome por las callecitas y callejones que me llamen la atención.

pasé lo últimos dos años y medio en bristol, inglaterra, donde trabajaba como asistente de aula en una escuela primaria además de trabajar con jóvenes con discapacidades, mientras estudiaba un diplomado en traducción que aprobé en enero. antes de mudarme a bristol pasé un año enseñando en españa y tres años viviendo y trabajando en américa del sur, un lugar del que siempre sentí­a un llamado y agradezco mucho haber tenido la oportunidad de explorarla y descubrir un poco de su gente, sus paisajes y sus culturas, aunque tengo la impresión de que podrí­a pasar mi vida entera allá y seguirí­a asombrándome de ella. entre seis meses recorriendo el continente en 2011/12 y otros seis en 2014, tomé un breve descanso de 2 años en colombia, un lugar que siempre ocuparía un lugar especial en mi corazón, si me dejas puedo pasar horas enteras delirándote al oido sobre el país, así que queda advertido por favor.

never take life too seriously (and enjoy the fleeting ride on this magnificent green and blue orb) and say yes more than you say no. i try to enjoy nature and the simple things in life, and never want to stop learning new things! i'm passionate about social justice and the environment and try to do my bit to make the world a better place.

nunca tomar la vida demasiado en serio, decir que sí más que que no, disfrutar de la naturaleza y las cosas sencillas de la vida, mostrar el amor en cada acción, y nunca dejar de aprender cosas nuevas! me apasionan la justicia social y el medio ambiente, y trato de aportar mi grano de arena para hacer del mundo un lugar mejor.
