Teach, Learn, Share

Can share knowledge about the city , country and nature. Almaty is the city I was born and leave for all my life. I love it and I hope guests will love it too.

One of my favorite hobby is helping people and be useful.
The thing why I want to write the below is that I notice interest from foreigners in Kazakhstan and many questions come to me about traveling in Almaty and near.
To summarize everything that I find out during my life here and answering questions about the tours I can recommend you the below
It’s not the advertisement . it’s my research and thoughts.
It will be
useful to people who intent to visit Almaty and stay for a while.

Most popular sighs in Almaty are
1) Kok tobe park
2) Medeo - shimbulak skate and ski resort
4) Park 28 panfilov with church
5) Green Bazar
6) the first president park
7) Gorkiy park with zoo and aqua park
8)Big Almaty Lake
9) who like paintings - Kosteev art gallary
10) who interesting in history - National Musium
11) panfilov street and arbat- pedestrian steer with nice cafes
12) central mosque
13) old and new square with fountains and monuments

2 gis is a good app to have wich works offline and shows everything in Almaty ( shops, cafés, sights.. .) with the public transportation
Most popular hiking paths near Almaty are
1) Furmanovka peak
2)kok zhailay pass with three brothers peak and Kumbel,
3) Butakovka waterfall
4)Big Almaty lake ( you can go upper to Big Almaty Peack, Tourist peak, Sovetov Peak),
5)there is also many routes in Shimbylak aria (upper near Talgar Pass) or to Manshuk lake.
there are certanly more hiking roads then I wrote, but these are most popular as I notice.
on weekend you wouldn't be alone there, many people especially students, go hiking. the maps.me gives paths to almost all these places.
But mountains can be dangerous so I think is better to go with somebody.

Most popular tours near Almaty are
1) Charin canyon
2) Kolsay Koyandi lakes
3) Big Almaty Lake
4) Altyn Emel National park
5) Tamgaly (ancient pictures )
6) Tamgaly tas (Cliffs near Ili river with big Buddist picture )
7) Issik lake and Turgen waterfall
8) Turkestan historic city
9) Kapchagai lake
10) Assy valley with bortogai lake
11) Rafting tours

12) you can also try paraplan in Yshkonir valley.

The cheapest way to get to these places is to book a weekend tour with a big bus. they goes every weekend from March-April to October. Usually this tours include transport, fee to the attraction and food if there is tour for more than a day.
Approximat price for the WEEKEND tor is below
You can find offers in chocolife cupon cite https://chocolife.me (it’s in Russian but you can try google translater)

If you have only weekdays but really want to see these places, some of them or at least one of them you can easily find private tours. But there a is big BUT. The price for private tours can be expensive. good things: you will be by yourself in one car (mostly jeep), you see this places without strict schedule, you choose the date and can combine some places (most popular you can make together Charin canyon+ Kolsay Koyandi lakes + Altyn Emel National park) for two, three or four days. English speaking drivers or guides is more expensive but you can easily be without this extra fee: Nature places will be the same and about them you can find info in internet. What you really need is the transport.so if you in Almaty only weekday try to visit at least one of the place form the list, they are beautiful and each one has their own feature. I can’t tell you which place is better. I see them all and like them all.

And another thing : I am not a tourist guide but I have tried to be for a few times and I like it. So I can make some trips for you on weekends or weekdays if you wish. But I will be with my baby( 1 year in May 2019), usually she is happy with meeting new people and being somewhere outside,so I hope you will like her company. As we enjoy the company of curious and interesting people (people who travel are usually very interesting and open minded, who love living and open new places)

If you need help from me, you can write me directly and I will do my best.

I hope all this info will be useful for you.
