About Me
My name is Alfonso, but here in Mexico Alfonso = Poncho, so thats my nickname. 27 yo
I borned in Veracruz, Mexico and lived ther for 18 years, then i moved to Puebla, México were i studied Chemical and Environmental Engineering in UDLAP and i live and work there as a Sales Engineer.
I think the simpliest way to describe myself is with 3 pasions: travel, challenge myself, friends. I love to challenge miself in every way, with activities that will make me better physically or psicologically; l love traveling... knowing new cultures, traditions, foods and places i think that at the very end the memories are the things that only matters; and I love my friends, they are the family i choose and i also like making new good friends, i think the friendships you get while traveling are one of the stronges types of relationships
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since 2018 my dream is to backpack in Southeast Asia, visiting places like Thailand, Vietnam, Camboya, Singapore, Malasya, Philipines, Laos and Indonesia, staying one month in each country, trying to work or volunteer in diferent hostels, couchsurf or meet old friends that live in some of those countries. But the pandemic came and i needed to pause my dream a couple of years, know im reactivating the dream but i have made some modifications, such as before Asia i want to visit and travel across Australia and New Zeland. Recently i found and bought some cheap and good flights from Mexico to Australia and Hawaii in the way, so i will do a 8 day layover before im headed to Australia so i can knew O'ahu as much as i can. I know these 3 countries aren't as cheap as South East Asia, i'm also doing these by myself and i want to make the most of every second i spend in these countries, so i would love tu couchsurf, know new people that i can teach and learn somthing to or from them, get the best tips or mate to know better the best places in the zone and also save some money in the accomodation

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2016, i traveled for 1 month across Europe by myself, saving money for over a year while i was studing Environmental Engineering in Mexico, i visited 11 countries and knew my first wonder of the world, the coliseum, now i thought i should have visited less countries and enjoy more time in eachone, but im pretty satisfied and proud of that experience that change me for good.
In 2018 i have my semester abroad in Argentina, i take every chance to travel across that beautiful country and i also traveled to other countries, at the end, in my last month when the semester was over, i traveled by bus from Buenos Aires to Lima, making stops in several iconic parts of sudamerica, such as Atacama Desert, Salar de Uyuni, Machu Picchu and other must seen spots, i biked the death road in Bolivia, walked in a glacier in Argentina, meet Cristo Redentor in Brazil (my second wonder of the world) and i loved it. I enjoyed avery single day of those six months and also i learnt a lot.
In 2019 i backpacked for 2 weeks across Costa Rica, it was simply priceless.
From 2020 to 2022 (pandemic years) i tried to travel as much as i could across Mexico, of the 32 states i just miss 5, but i went in diferent moments to some of the most beautifully perfect places that i have seen, the best beaches i have visiten and to some of the most magical spots in the country.
Also during those years, i focused in challenge myself:
- I clompleted a Spartan Race Trifecta, wich means i ran the 3 kind of races in 1 year: the Spartan Sprint 5k+ 20 obstacles, the Spartan Super 12km + 25 obstacles, and the Spartan Beast 21k + 30 obstacles
- I sumitted the 3 highest peaks (mountines) in Mexico: 1 time "El Pico de Orizaba" (5,636 m.a.s.l), 2 times Iztaccihuatl (5,230 m.a.s.l) and 5 times La Malinche (4,420 m.a.s.l). Sumit in El Pico de Orizaba and Iztaccihuatl have been the must challenging things i have done in my life, but also the must enriching experiences, i new myself in a way i have never done it before
- I ran the Mexico City half marathon (21 km) at 2,200 m.a.s.l, it was a complete diferent challenge, i didnt like runnig, but with this experience i learn to like it and the also y learnt one of the most important lessons in my life that i apply it to several things, go at your own pace and enjoy the ride.
- I certified with PADI as a open water diver and i scuba dived a couple of times in Veracruz, Mexico and in La Paz, Baja California with the Shark Whale and Sea Lions
- I pareachuted in Morelos, Mexico and was one of the most exiting and beautiful experiences in my life
- I fly in a Balloon over Teotihuacan in Mexico
- I visited Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the world, and i love it.
- I went to several music festival and concerts and i saw Rüfüs du Sol, Polo & Pan, James Blake, Ben Böhmer, and so much other idols.
