About Me

Currently on my way through the Americas, north to south.

I travel the world to learn more about the planet we live on and about myself. Nature gives me happiness and peace, and people help to expand my views. I am open minded and respectful of peoples beliefs and way of life. Every person I meet knows something that I don't and can teach me something new.

I am a reliable and calm, but I love adventures and anything that makes my blood pump. I am a responsible and well organized but spontaneous person with a sense of humor and many stories to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel it's not to party or lay on a beach. There is a curiosity in me to learn new things, about the culture and the people of the country that I am in.
Who can teach me better than a local person!

Interests

Because of my profession, my biggest interest is drink mixing and learning about local drinks - even beverages without alcohol.

Travelling has turned me into a photographer who over time has become quite good. Taking photos is a burning passion I take with me everywhere I go.

Geography has always been an interest of mine. Studying maps became much more interesting when I can see where I have been or where I am going.

Nature never stops to amaze me. I have grown to love it and it is something I cannot live without. A walk along the beach, over the mountains or in the forest is like a drug to me.

I have recently started drawing again after many years. I mostly draw from my imagination but want to learn new ways and techniques. Overall I like to be creative.

Music, Movies, and Books

All music that sounds good to my ears! I love songs by Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, The Shins, José Gonzales. I really like instrumental and ambient music. Two of my most recent favorite songs are Switzerland by The Last Bison and The Balcony by The Rumor Said Fire.

Movies that makes me think and feel are the absolute best. Films by Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson and Pixar are some of my favorites. Films I really like are City of God and Into The Wild, and I cannot get enough of Planet Earth II!

There aren't too many books that attract me much. If I find one that I really like, I will finish it in days. Some of the books I have enjoyed are 1984, Into the Wild, On the Road and my new personal favorite: The Alchemist. I mainly pick up a book by recommendation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Encouraging myself to not start studying directly after high school, but to wait and see the world instead, until the time is right.

Other things include:

Hitchhiking all over both islands of New Zealand with a friend.

Living with a family and teaching English in Pisa for a year.

Going on a safari in Uganda and seeing animals in the wild.

Driving through VietNam on a motorcycle with almost no previous experience.

Hitchhiking solo from Guatemala to Panama without knowing any Spanish. Including getting a ride on a sailboat between North and South America.

Experiencing the Galapagos with my family, who I had not seen for 10 months at the time.

Bikepacking through Patagonia, pedaling over 2000km in and living a simple life and close to nature.

Being alive and living life to the fullest!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have experience as an English teacher. If you want to improve your language skills then you have the opportunity with me.
(Of course I can teach you Swedish, but it is a language you don't really need unless you're going to Sweden.)

If you are a foodie like me and like eating foreign food; I can cook food from my country. Sweden is not famous for our cuisine, but we have a lot of good food to offer. I know many international dishes as well.

Hopefully you like cocktails. I can teach you how to make basic but delicious drinks with local ingredients and utensils you have in your home.

There's a phrase that I am trying to learn in every language I encounter. Maybe I know it in your language already, otherwise I am eager to learn it!

One of my main reasons for travelling is to taste local food, and learning how to cook it. Experiencing new flavors is exciting to me and something I really enjoy bringing home.

Local music from is something I like to listen to and if possible learn to play. Normally I'm not the best musician.

The knowledge which has been shared by other travelers and couch surfers can be shared with you. Meals, drinks, music and good conversations too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking with or for you - local or Swedish cuisine.

Making drinks and explaining the process for you, going through what makes a good cocktail.

I travel with my camera and can take and share pictures of our time together.

Going on walks and seeing the town or area with you, telling you about my country and culture, about my travels and my experiences.

I would like for you to share the same with me.
