About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi there, hi here too!
My name is Alejandro, I'm 27 years old (uf!)and I'm living very close to Katowice, in the South of Poland although I'm originally from the North West of Spain, more exactly in Galicia and more, more exactly in A Coruña or A Coruna or La Corogne if French people are reading it.
I've studied cooking and many other things related with gastronomy and catering industry (to add some other examples, I also studied about wines, cocktails, coffees, banquets, restaurants, bars, etc). It's a nice world, especially if you have patience and you are okay with receiving some shouts from teacher when everything isn't going well at all xD Nowadays I don't have a job related with my studies but that doesn't mean I stopped to like them.
I'm interested in languages too although unfortunately I don't have a lot of time for learning them. Apart from Spanish and Galician, I speak English, French (I studied in school some years ago), some Italian (this I studied by myself with some other "real" Italian university students ;) Languages are... how to explain, a very important part of the culture and I like to read cultural and historical aspects of different countries, places, regions... So all history books are welcome to me! I hate when Hollywood or others make historical films with many many mistakes and unfortunately again, there are many.
I like a lot of sports too! I played hockey and basketball for many years and I started with that sports and for example, not football because I was considered too bad with it.. although sometimes I go to play with friends and yes, I've scored some goals! So yes, maybe I'm not Messi but I can see myself as a decent player. I'll admit to one stupid dream: if I can, in future, will do the course or courses to be able to train professional teams of basketball ;)
And about me... think that's all folks! Well, I think about many other things to add (for example that despite I'm very bad playing, I've supported my team since I was a baby; I went to the stadium for the first time when I was just 3 years old but well... you can always ask me more and I will answer :) I read about Couchsurfing some time ago, now I'm not sure if I found it in a newspaper first or on the radio but well... I've discovered it by myself now and looks good! :)
See you soon!
PHILOSOPHY
Oh, no! This looks tough; I don't have any special philosophy or way of life. Nowadays it's very popular Carpe diem or Tempus fugit but.. I see the point of it but at the same time I don't get it. In one hand, it's true that life is too short but I also think that the moments I had in the past made me the person I'm now Dangit, I don't know how to explain it. I trust people and I want them to trust me as well. Sometimes (not always) you discover that people is more selfish and protective over the things they have. I think it was another reason why I've joined couchsurfing. One of the ideas was against being selfish and share your moments with another people, right? Ok, fair enough, I probably thought too much xD
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
BeforeI couldn't participate in Couchsurfing as much as I wanted because I used to live with my father. Now I live with my girlfriend and it's possible that we'll be able to offer our sofa/sofa bed. But if not, it's possible that we'll be able (if we find the time for it, of course) to show you the surroundings and places of interest around here.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
To be honest, I don't have a huge list of experiences with Couchsurfing but all the ones when I was involved in, were great. I was hosted a few times and also went to some meetings (the first one, the international in the Cies Islands near my birthplace was superb). So... so far, I only have good words about Couchsurfing.
Interests
Hmmm, this list! Ehm, in a random order...
Basketball, Hockey, Football, F1, WRC, Cooking, Serving, Coffee (yes, this sounds weird but I'm quiet special with coffee, if I have to spend to spend money in a good one, will do it), MUSIC (sounds as a topic but can't live without it, you'll be able to find it soon below), languages, culture, history, science news, languages, travelling... don't know, tell me something and it's very easy I will be very interested and curious about it soon.
