Just looking at the interesting sights in a city, you don’t get a feel for the “soul” of a city. I think the only way to do this is to talk to the locals and get an idea of their lives, their outlooks, etc

Music: Everything. I listen to music of several languages even though I often don't understand what's being said (turkish, korean, japanese, arabic, etc.)

Books: too many, particularly like psychology and philosophy books. Greek philosophy, the stoics, Carl Jung, etc
