About Me

Hello, my name is Alistair and I'm from the UK. Me and my wonderful girlfriend are currently cycling from Athens in Greece, back to my hometown of Nuneaton in England. We have spent one whole amazing year working and travelling in the far east, and are really enjoying swapping the backpack for the bicycle. In the UK I was a music performer and teacher, and Stephanie was a nurse. We are long time veggies, music lovers and good-time-havers.

I am new to couchsurfing and signed up after I began travelling. When I return home I will host others to return my favours to the community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet people in Europe who may be able to host us during this cycle trip. We are hoping to meet many people and make the most of our time in this diverse continent. We are on couchsurfing to hear new stories, make new friends, eat new foods, make our food for you, listen to new music and have a generally great time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a lot of music and read a lot of books. My favourite author is Philip K. Dick - sci-fi in general is my favourite genre, however I'll read whatever's available at the time. I also enjoy reading about politics and history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently got lost in the Himalayan jungle and was stalked by a wild tiger. The village woman I was following, it turned out, was actually following me. Luckliy we both survived! She was able to get a phone signal at the mountain ridge and a search party found us.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play the guitar, as I was a guitar tutor back in the UK. I would love to learn a little more Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you like, I could cook any one of my famous dishes for you. I enjoy cooking and make excellent chilli, irish stew and pizza.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Greece, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, Laos
