Hi, I’m Ali from Azerbaijan. I’m currently a PhD student in Northern Cyprus, but I live in Türkiye.

I work as a Mentor teacher, which means I truly enjoy connecting with people, understanding different perspectives, and sharing knowledge. I’m a good listener and genuinely interested in people’s stories — I believe everyone has something unique to tell.🧐

In my free time, I like playing volleyball, going for long walks (especially in the rain), and exploring new tastes. I’m passionate about food and enjoy discovering different cuisines, and I also appreciate good wine and meaningful conversations around the table.🍷

I’m an easygoing and spontaneous person — if you suggest a plan a few hours in advance, there’s a good chance I’ll say yes and join you. I love exploring new places, meeting new people, and creating memorable experiences together❤️.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I truly want to build friendships with people from all around the world. For me, traveling is not just about seeing places — it’s about experiencing the soul of a city through the eyes of locals.

I want to discover the hidden stories, cultures, and everyday life of each place together with the people who live there. That’s what makes every journey meaningful.

At the same time, I deeply believe in the spirit of Couchsurfing — helping others without expecting anything in return. This is one of the most important values I’ve been taught in life, and I want to live it through this community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Left my job in Azerbaijan in 2022 and went to Turkiye to work as a volunteer teacher at private school. Because I love exploring people!

In april 2025, I did it again!

Hiking is the one of my favorite activities. Under the 40 degrees celsius, I walked 12 km. ⛰️
