About Me

I am currently travelling, with no agenda, in India. I am into peace, openness and adventure. I meditate daily and practice yoga, and am following my intuition around this wonderful crazy country until the end of June when I am hoping to continue East and then who knows! I have been creating and running an organic kitchen garden on the beautiful Isle of Wight, U.K. for the past 3 years and before that was working as a private gardener in my village. I was also sitting on my local Council where I set up and managed multiple local environmental projects as well as being involved in general community matters. I have most recently been living on a biodynamic cooperative farm in the Sussex woodlands where I was growing vegetables and learning to milk the cows! I have been in India since the beginning of January.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking for places to stay as I travel! I would really like to meet some friendly folk and share in our experiences. Being a part of community is really important to me - I often find the identity of 'tourist' or 'traveller' rather overwhelming and look to integrate where I can although I am moving around a lot! I am a very tidy person and travel pretty light, I am a good house guest and am happy to help around the house!

Interests

I sing and play the guitar and spend a lot of time writing and reading. I also love to cook and generally to use my hands to make things, being creative is really important to me. I am a very relaxed person and am inspired by truth and honesty, and the exploration of both the inner and outer environments. I love to chat but also love solitude! Nature is my biggest inspiration and I'm really interested in the uses and make-up of plants. I've worked on the festival circuit for many years in various guises, run a pop-up restaurant in a geodesic dome that I built from hazel poles I cut from the forest, sung in a gypsy jazz band...

Music, Movies, and Books

So many too many to list! I love al most all types of music - funk, rock, folk, blues, jazz, metal, techno, bhangra, trad, acousitic, I could go on................. I find a lot of the music I like doesn't really fall under a specific category. I'm not such a fan of commercial radio music. I love a good song writer with a grasp of the poetic play of language and it's ability to come alive when coupled with the medium of music. I like music from the heart. I guess Bob Dylan is one of my favourites. I love film although I don't really watch TV and have never owned one.. Wes Anderson is probably my favourite director. I don't watch horror movies or anything pointlessly violent or gory. Books are the same as music to me, it's all about the soul of the book. I love a good bit of fiction, sci fi, fantasy, but also historical novels and biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't like to try to pinpoint experiences - every moment is as amazing as the others, it's just how we choose to relate to it and how present we can be.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not sure what this means... I can share my knowledge of plants...! I can juggle a bit.. Guitar? Some french..?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good chats, soulful meanderings, good connections and lots of past experiences. I love to have a good giggle and to listen to others talk about whatever they fancy!
