ABOUT ME

When traveling, I try to experience a country the way its people experience it, rather than being a 'regular tourist'. So I'm quite curious and will try to be part of your culture as much as I can: I’ll be delighted to eat your national food, dance to your music and hang out at the places you enjoy.

I love to meet people and try to be as open-minded and flexible as I can. I’m outgoing and always in for a good party or a long conversation over a cup of tea.

At the moment I live in Beirut where I study music and teach Arabic.

I have a passion for music. I play the guitar (a little) and sing (a little more). I will study Arabic singing in Beirut. I love Fairouz, Nass al Ghiwane, Fela Kuti, Marcel Khalife, Tomatito, Bob Marley and many others.

I especially enjoy novels, poems and films which allow you to ‘feel’ a real social situation. I love Najeeb Mahfouz, Tolstoy, Emir Kusturica, Mahmoud Darwish.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I’ll never forget the thrill of meeting youngsters from a Masai tribe in Kenya. Seeing that the place we were was never visited by foreigners, the youngsters ran away from us! Eventually we won their trust (with the exception of one of them who kept pointing his spear at my friend) and had lunch together, even though we shared no language. It was amazing!
