ABOUT ME

(Allison) I grew up in a typical American family (if there is such a thing!) with parents that managed to stay married until I was 19 and stay friends after that. I have a younger brother named after a popular Irish whiskey (Jameson) and my last name before getting married was Bond...yeah, yeah I know...

I've done a fair amount of traveling on the eastern side of the U.S., but I wouldn't mind heading out west (and Alaska is on the list as well!) and of course I would love to travel abroad and almost any place will do...hence the huge list of places below...that was all my doing. I'm Sicilian (Italian) and Irish so those are 2 places I would love to go. I wouldn't mind eventually CSing with our kids if we can find compatible hosts...we'll see.

Friends and family are hugely important to me, and I love adding people to the list of people I know! If you're quirky, have strong opinions (as long as you don't force them on me!), value friendship, have varied interests and/or life experiences we'd probably get along fabulously. That being said...I get along with just about everyone and I just like learning about people in general.

I'm a little bit of an enigma...I think the only person even close to figuring me out is my husband! I'm a study in contradictions. Serious/Playful, Open/Reserved, Wild/Settled...it changes by the hour sometimes...

(As a couple) We began dating in Spring 2003. He has a daughter, Hannah (born in 2000), from a previous marriage. May 2004 we had our son, Gabriel. Finally got married February 2008.

We are truly best friends (I know it's cliche). We do practically everything together, and yet we have some separate interests as well. We are experts at effective communication (we should teach a class). He's pretty laid back which complements my tendency to be a little high-strung perfectly (as well as keeps me sane!). We like to explore new places and things. We've found this happy middle ground between being home-bodies and wanting to go out.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, we're new to this concept, so for now we wouldn't mind hosting (though our town isn't exactly a tourist hot spot) and we would love to surf somewhere fun! Volunteering is something we wouldn't mind doing once we're more familiar with the Couchsurfing processes.
