About Me

"Do you wanna leave soon?
No, I want to be in love with everything...
And I cry because everything is so beautiful and so short."
--Marina Keegan, from her poem "Bygones"

I am open to talking about anything/everything, and like to really get to know my hosts. I have met the most lovely people on CS and am so grateful to call them friends. I was born in the small town, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and moved to the US for my undergraduate studies; if you're planning a trip down to the 'Isla del encanto' I can possibly give you some type of advice!

Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico but grew up for some time in Texas. I attended Texas A&M University for my Bachelors in Neuroscience/Anthropology (minor). This fall I will continue with my studies as a masters student in Neuroscience and intend to follow an MD/PhD track following my masters. I work full time as a research assistant currently and during my free time, I train at the boxing gym, love playing Zigeunerweisen on the violin or work on my latest art project.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm mostly on couch surfing to meet new people when I travel; every trip is undoubtedly 10 times better once you meet and actually connect with true locals.

My first experience ever couchsurfing was in Paris, and I was hooked! It is a great way to meet so many interesting people, and I look forward to continue surfing!

Interests

I'm very active and outdoorsy, and love hiking and biking and running and all things outside. My other interests include the music, in particular the violin, as well as yoga, boxing, painting, writing... or simply just taking a break with a good book in one hand and a good cappuccino in the other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in the small village of Calnali, Mexico to collect data for a research project-- no electricity, no reception, no internet. For two months. To this day, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences since it taught me the importance of pushing aside electronics and just meeting people one-on-one. Lessons like these are critical nowadays;).

Teach, Learn, Share

Traveling stories, kindness, friendship, meals, drinks and new adventures. I may play a song or two on my violin with a lot of coaxing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy cooking/baking especially being creative with what I make. I like using random ingredients around the house and thinking of ways to put them together. I am also a great listener and love listening to other's stories and encounters.

-I have loved cooking all my life and would love to cook and share a meal with you!
-I can offer free Spanish lessons if you are learning... or salsa/merengue dance lessons as well:)?
-I love to cook, eat, walk and enjoy the outdoors. I also love exploring a new terrain on foot!
-I enjoy yoga & can lead a little yoga practice in your living room:D
