About Me

Update

I married and became mother of 2 wonderul children.
Currently we have 2 under 2 at home and therefore won't host for a while. I'll update of this changes :)

Hi, there!

As you can see I'm German. I'm from the small town Flensburg which is very close to the danish border. It is always windy and we have loads of rain which is propably the reason why I dreamed of palmtrees and hot beaches all my life. (And the world in general, I'm not only going to explore warm places).

Besides from my longing for sunbathing I love getting to know new people, I'm open minded and easy-going and very spontaneously.
My hobbies are crafting, painting, reading(!), playing piano and guitar. I'm not particular good in playing any instrument, I just enjoy playing it and sometimes singing along (I LOVE singing and you'll most likely hear me singing under the shower if you stay with me). I'm addicted to chocolate!

I love all kinds of animals, I just have to admit I'm very afraid of spiders and jelly fish, for some stupid reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing experience:

I've only been to two different hosts so far but I really enjoyed that!
I hosted quiet a few people by now and each person visiting me was giving me a good time. I found the most interesting people, I found friends, I found amazing charachters and I'd love to see everyone again. I simply love hosting :) ♡
I enjoy the concept of couchsurfing because it means you get to know people who are living in the country which then again means you get a better impression of the country itself (at least that's what I think). I love to have a little chat and find out about all the differences and commonalities. But don't be afraid, I don't have to talk all night long, I can also keep silent (if I try hard).

Music, Movies, and Books

Musicians: Ed Sheeran, Philipp Dittberner, Kina Grannis, Sting, Pohlmann, Joris, Pink, John Denver, Nena, Shakira, Sia, P!nk, Lindsey Stirling, Disney Music, Suzanne Vegas.

Movies: All about time, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Moulin Rouge, Pirates of the Carribean, Three Nuts for Cinderella, Head Full of Honey,
all disney children movies (The Beauty and the Beast, Fox and the Hound...)

Books: Shadowhunters, Eragon, Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, GreGor, Twilight, Wellenlauefer trilogy, Reckless, Inkheart trilogy, Idhun, Skogland, Spellsinger (Alan Dean Foster), Kaptain Blaubaer, Magicians Guild, Lionboy trilogy, Felix auf Weltreise, Ruby Red trilogy, Silver trilogy, Kleiner Koenig Kalle Wirsch, Panem...

Just a general advice: Read Cornelia Funke books if you're in to fantasy. She is an amazing writer. I don't claim to know how well the've done with the translation of the books but she's definitely the best german author there is. One more: If you like to read books for children, then try Dragon Rider (written by her, too). It is a lovely story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Studying and living in Ireland.
Moving together with my brother (so much fun!).
Lying on the floor in the bus eating a whole chocolate bar.

Getting lost in a national park in Ireland.
My first time jumping in to the Balearic Sea (in Barcelona) and hugged a palm tree. I hyperventilated like a little kid.

Being loved by people the way they did and still do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can just try to share my experiences and my positive attitude with people. Or I could talk about all the books I've read for hours and hours. Or every little detail about the Harry Potter world, as I'm crazy about it. Or just compare local traditions with mine because it's just the most interesting thing ever!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can only host spontaneously (a word you'll often hear from me) as I'm living in a flat share and it depends on them as well, but in general it shouldn't be a problem. I can show you my hometown, tell you which restaurant is worth a visit and show you the harbour and the beaches around etc.
