About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see something new.

ABOUT ME

I like to eat peanut butter M&Ms and waste time with my friends. Since they also like wasting time with me, I would hazard the guess that I'm fun people. I read a lot, I love DC more than any city in the world, and when the mood is right (read: tipsy) I play guitar and sing. "Beauty and the Beast" taught me that if you don't extend hospitality to people, they can turn into witches and curse you to live life as a giant bear-dog hybrid. Sadly, since the security folks in my dorm building don't accept philosophy from Disney movies, I can't offer you a place to stay. I can, however, offer company and wisecracks.

PHILOSOPHY

I imagine my personal philosophy would involve that slight overlap between my love of cities, junk food, good-looking men, and books. but I can't say for sure, because I've never sat down and thought about it.

Interests

reading, writing, music (particularly the Clash, a band with whom I've been madly in love since first hearing "London Calling" in the sixth grade), hair dye, dogs, David Foster Wallace, Indian food, yelp.com, tea, coffee, the District of Columbia

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: the Clash, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Ettes, Howlin Wolf, Bad Brains, the Ramones before Phil Spector got to them, the Libertines, Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, Sam Cooke, Joan Jett, the Pixies, Mitch Ryder, the GO

MOVIES: most things by Quentin Tarantino, most things by Danny Boyle, most things by Martin Scorcese. my movies list is real violent.

BOOKS: lots. More extensive than the other two lists. I don't want to be that boring guy with the six page long list of favorite books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen Iggy Pop perform, and that was plenty amazing for me.
