Overview
About Me
I am currently a college student in the United States who is interested in global and public health! I have a goal to travel during my college years and afterwards, and I want to learn about different cultures and health systems as I do it. I love learning, so expect questions from me!
For me, only my big goals are set - health, travel, and financial independence. My details and path are up to the opportunities that arise and my ability to take advantage of each of them as I am able to!
I am relatively new to travel and the world of travelers, but I appreciate any and all guidance accordingly!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have fallen in love with travel, meeting new people, and getting to know different cultures! The globe has fascinated me - from a young age, I've grown up with two distinct cultures. As I've traveled more, I have realized that the world is so much bigger than it appears on a map or globe. I travel to interact with new experiences, people, and cultures. Since Couchsurfing is a great way to keep costs low and help me travel more, I want to be a part of it.
Interests
Travel, naturally! I also enjoy reading and helping others in the ways that I can. I watch television shows and like to think about how they relate to the real world as well!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am in love with Ed Sheeran's music, and many songs that are similar to his - I describe the genre as a "softer pop". Other than that, my music tastes tend to be all over the place!
I have recently finished The Maze Runner trilogy and LOVED it - it took me just a week to read through all three books! I also like the writing style of Ramit Sethi, who talks about personal finance, and read autobiographies of actors, comedians, and other people I appreciate. I can also highly recommend books for the general population on psychology and economics - like Freakonomics and books by Malcolm Gladwell.
I tend to prefer television shows over movies because I love the development of the characters and their universe that I don't feel movies always have. I generally like comedy and action (Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, The Mentalist, Modern Family, etc.) but can branch out as well! The movies I have liked include those like The Transformers series, the Marvel superhero/Avengers series, and romantic comedies!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have learned all about Frequent Flyer miles - and booked a flight from the United States to Peru and one from Chile back to the United States for a total of $75! I also arrived in Peru by myself knowing almost no Spanish, and survived!
Everything I'm interested in working towards is documented on my impossible list at http://alicesimpossiblelist.blogspot.com/.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be happy to teach anything that I know, especially the culture of the United States and Taiwan (and a little bit of China), as well as my experiences as an Asian American! If you're interested in learning some Chinese, I would be happy to teach you some basics, too.
I'm interested in learning more about culture, and how you have gotten to where you are in life! I love just talking about anything - conversations like that always turn out to be fantastic.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My sincerest gratitude! I have no expectations of hosts because they are generously dedicating their resources and time, but I have time to share what I know with anyone kind enough to accept me into their home! I can keep to myself and respect the space I'm in.
