Overview
About Me
I'm a positive, funny, energetic, and hard working student who loves to travel and meet people around the globe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting local people when I travel, getting in touch with their everyday lives, cultures, and interests.
Another important reason is that, being a sociologist, this year I'm going to conduct research for the Master's degree I'm taking in Amsterdam (Sociology of Migration).
I chose Italy as my field of work and I will need to travel throughout the country for interviews. As a student, my budget for the research is zero, yet my spirit of adaptation and adventure will be essential for me to carry it out in the best way I can and with the lowest expense.
Interests
I'm a no-stopping dancer. You can find me dancing on the streets, in my room, in a club, in a park, on a mountain... wherever I am, dancing will be with me as one of the most important part of my life. I have been studying ballet and contemporary since I was a child, but I have also learned other kinds during my travels and other life experiences (salsa & samba are for sure some favourite ones!).
I also love music, of any kind: from classic music to rock 'n roll, electronic, folk, jazz, reggae, blues and pop -
I graduated in philosophy and I have always liked reading essays, but also novels, especially when I am travelling. I grew in Florence and art is another very important part of my interests. I love watching and talking about movies, I am a big fan of thrillers!
I will conclude with my top first passion: food! I can consider myself a good cook, but I am definitely better at eating! Food is for me not just a very important part of my life as a pleasure, but also a tool through which I like to discover new cultures and habits.
Music, Movies, and Books
too many to list them!
Teach, Learn, Share
I've had a lot of teaching experience, especially concerning italian language and culture. I also use teaching as a way to travel and gain some experiences.
I taught italian for more than one year to a group of migrants coming from different countries, in Florence. This was a crucial experience that marked a turning point in my life. In fact, after having graduated in Philosophy, I then decided to start studying Sociology and Migration for my Master.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking and I can offer some teaching (and eating!) session of italian cuisine. I am also very good with languages, especially english and italian, thus I am also very keen on giving lessons of italian or english. I love arts and everything which involves creativity, so if you need a hand for any creative work just count me in!
