About Me
Hi,
I don't want to bore you with the 'my name’s Alice, I’m 23 years old, I grew up in Italy, but my mum is Belgian, and my father is German. I am second year student in Global Studies in Maastricht. I mean, who cares?
Let's speak about some more interesting facts about me. Three things I hate: laugh tracks in American TV series, almonds, especially on cakes and people touching me while speaking. Three things I love: tasting the soft froth of my morning cappuccino by dipping the spoon into it, to be the first passenger who claps their hands when the plane has landed and finally to take off my socks when I go to bed. Travelling around the world would be the fourth one, but who doesn’t love it?
Jokes aside, I am a very active person and love sports.
After my gap year in Namibia last year, where I worked as a PE teacher and canoe/swimming coach, I realized (besides for my true love for the Namibian culture, people and food), how much sport has the power to dicrease inequalities, bring people together and make everyone a bit more happier.
Indeed trail running, swimming, hiking, surfing and horse riding were definitely one of the only things that kept me motivated and positive during the pandemic.
Moreover, being in the wilderness saved me from the boring quarantine routine. Nature has always been a sort of habitat for me, especially when it comes to the sea. In Italian we say: “if you were born there, you will never be able to do without it”. In fact If I had superpowers I would become a dolphin until the end of my life.
Finally I am definitely a social animal; sitting around a campfire, in the middle of nowhere, laughing and talking about death and life, drinking beers, playing the guitar, singing good old songs (my heartthrob is Wonderwall) and staying up until the sun rises, is all I love.
