About Me
****N.B:******
My respones rate is super low as I neglected CS for a few months whilst figuring out what on earth i'm doing with my life, but I've just been through my 100+ messages and finally replied to everyone!! Won't let it happen again :)))
**** N.B. 2 ****
I wish I didn't have to say this, but I am here to connect with people and share my city and interests with them and vice versa. Please do NOT get in touch with me if you are expecting anything more than that!! I hope it's clear what I mean.
Hiya!
Welcome to my little corner of Couchsurfing. Although it's a strange time for travel, I'm hoping this community stays alive, as I've had some of the best experiences of my life via this platform.
First things first: want to make it clear that *i only host women* !! So, men, please do not request that I host you! Feel free to shoot me a message for recommendations or to hang out if you see that we have similar interests, but I will not host you.
On we go...
I'm a very friendly and warm person, sort of the "auntie" amongst my friends -- always feeding them, checking in on them, begging them to stay over instead of going home because i just want to be with them forever. If you stay with me, you can expect me to have people over (always chill, just cooking, chatting, having a glass of wine etc.), or for me to be going to someone's place and I'll gladly bring you with me to meet new people.
As for how I spend the rest of my time, i work remotely so I'll be around the house potentially more than other hosts might, although I also go work in cafes. This also means I'm more likely to be around for you to ask questions or just have some company while you have breakfast :) Aside from work, I am obsessed with boxing and there's a boxing studio across from my place that I frequent pretty much every day. I also try to do yoga every day and go for a run in the park every few days.
I work in digital media and am personally a huge consumer of internet stuff -- I love watching my favourite youtubers to either entertain, relax or inform me. Cody Ko, Elena Taber, Rowena Tsai and Hindz are a few of my favorites. As for TV shows and stuff, I tend not to watch long and intense dramas, you'll usually find me watching Brooklyn 99, Schitt's Creek, Arrested Development or something else that's short and funny. Alternatively, re-runs of Disney Channel classics like Hannah Montana or Suite Life, or marathoning all three High School Musical films.
I love food and cooking and will gladly feed you whilst you stay with me. I'm vegan, so everything I make will be vegan and I only ask that you don't cook meat in my Kitchen. I don't really mind if you cook with dairy or eggs, or if you get takeaway with meat, I just don't really want raw meat in my home, I hope you understand :)
I love languages, I speak French & Spanish and would love to practice if you do, too, and I understand/speak Arabic -- I would need to speak to you mainly in English but I'll welcome the opportunity to practice, too.
I've lived in London basically my whole life, so I'd say I'm a pretty good guide / source of knowledge, although even I am still learning to explore more and try new restaurants etc. etc.
If you send me a request, please let me know what your favourite childhood TV show is, so I know you've read this far and are genuinely interested in connecting with hosts and not just finding free accommodation. As you may have gathered, mine is Hannah Montana.
when i'm travelling: i'm usually trying to eat literally the whole country. i'm all about eating local like 95% of the time, with the odd side of french fries when i'm in need of some comfort. i love hiking / discovering nature + camping, I haven't done all that much but I look forward to doing a lot more in the future. i love learning about culture and history but also relaxing by the ocean and cafe-hopping so i do my best to balance both.
when i'm in my home city: i'm usually hanging out at friends places, cooking, chatting, trying new restaurants, walking around the city with a hot choc or gelato in hand (depending on the season), or alternatively having solo dance parties in my own home. if i go out, i go out to dance and enjoy music and good energy, so Heaven is pretty much my go-to spot (the biggest gay club in Europe, because it's HUGE, it's chill so I can wear jeans and sneakers, there's so much space, and people are actually there to DANCE).
Looking forward to connecting! :)))))
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve travelled so much and yet far too often have missed out on the very best bits - the local people. Engaging and interacting with people who call a place their home is truly the richest experience of travel. Even if it’s just sharing funny stories and laughing over a simple dinner, any form of human connection across the globe is always the cherry on top.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything groovy, goofy or otherwise good. From Elvis, to Justin Bieber to Jack Johnson to Odesza to Bob Marley (why is this list just men??), and likewise, action, comedy, rom-com, sci-fi... as long as I vibe with it I’m down. BOOKS - personal growth + spirituality etc, things explorative of the human experience + philosophy e.g. The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac, The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Currently reading A Little Life. Also, popular science - think Chasing The Scream, Lost Connections by Johan Haari, Body Keeps the Score etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Met the Queen! (this is always funny when people find out I’m from England and ask if I’ve met the Queen and I can actually say yes hahaha)
Most recently swung on a rope from a palm tree over the sea in Sri Lanka (see photos)
Journeyed on a train through the Sri Lankan mountains sitting at the open door with my feet hanging out (see photos, too!)
Won a free trip to California (I'm a very "lucky" person but I like to think about it more as law of attraction / cosmic magic - either way it might rub off on you!!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you many fun and delicious recipes - I adore cooking and I like it to be fun so it's always pretty easy and always VERY tasty. I'm vegan so all my food is vegan - don't be put off though! It will be awesome for you to have some crazy good vegan recipes up your sleeve. It's always fun serving food and then seeing people's reactions when you break the news... "This is vegan?!! NO WAY!!"
I will gladly help you practice your English, French, Spanish and even more gladly learn YOUR language. Next on my list are Italian and Portuguese but eventually, I want to conquer them ALL. Dream big right?
My heritage is very mixed - which is thankfully increasingly common in this day and age - but it means that I’ve always been very open minded and curious about different cultures, religions, customs etc. whilst never adhering to one in particular. I also can’t help but question a lot about the world, because it means I live more intentionally and less on “auto-pilot” when I feel like I understand things fully, including myself and my actions. Always down to philosophise about these things!
Sharing is caring, from books to music to food to hugs to stories to clothes - whatever you need and whatever comes about I'll share :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A listening ear - I’m just as keen to hear about your crazy travel stories as I am to share my own, a good sense of humour, and a helping hand!! I actually get such joy from helping out in a home, from tidying to cooking (I’m pretty good 😉) to laying the table, paying it forward is important.
