I am from Hackney in London and love to travel, explore and volunteer. I enjoy meeting new people and having the opportunity to see new places from a local viewpoint. I love meeting new people and exchange cultures. I have worked in many organisations across, Africa, Asia and Europe, in schools, charities and with youth.
I have previously volunteered in Ethiopia, India, France, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and London (where I am from). I am keen to explore the world and volunteer and I think couchsurfing is a brilliant way to do so.
I enjoy being creative and getting involved in local activities as I think a sense of community is very important wherever you are. I live in London and love exploring it’s vast exhibitions and one of my favourite exhibition spaces in London is the Wellcome Collection.
I strongly believe in promoting and working towards a goal of equality; I believe where you start in life should not determine how far you can go or where you will end up, in treating others the way you wish to be treated yourself and in a sense of community.
Starting in 2016 I spent a year volunteering with refugees in Europe my passion in supporting and encouraging young people to become active citizens has grown and been beneficial to the way I think about the world and make conscience decisions. After this, in December 2017 I decided to go back to Ethiopia, somewhere I had previously volunteered and traveled and studied the national language for 6 months.
Each summer since 2016 I've continued to work with a charity that focuses on help young people in my local area mix with people they wouldn't otherwise mix with which is what I will be doing in the month of July this year and now I am looking for some great places to see and volunteer in before I start university in London in October!
