About Me
I would love having a life story similar to a Sofia Coppola's movie or maybe inspire Woody Allen, being that dramatic and miserable person who spends more time overthinking than actually thinking.
But I'm just Alice and I can only afford living my own life and not pretending to be too cool or too intelectual for you.
I like cats, photography, tea and winter-time. I'm not a party-all-night-in-the-club girl but I can stay up late talking and discussing opinions (specially politics and art after a few drinks).
I'm studying Communication's Sciences but I still don't know what I want to do after finishing my degree. I don't believe in fate or dreams, but - and there's always a but - I'm secretly hoping I'll be a photojournalist or working all day long with analogic photography, hidden in the lab, playing with all the chemistry.
Right now I'm sharing a house with other students but if you come to Lisbon we can schedule something so you can have a boring and pretentious day!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCH SURFING
One day I was feeling sad, alone, missing home in Riga and I decided to join a Couchsurfing's meeting. Since I'm a shy person, I've arrived to the restaurant, sit down in a couch and just waited to see if someone was already there. After 10 minutes the couch were full and I start meeting people from everywhere, with different ages and cultures, it was amazing and I felt I needed to experience the world not like a tourist but like a local.
HOST
It's frustrating for someone that lives in Portugal seeing tourists being trapped and spending big amounts of money in "local things" that are just bad quality products with fancy layers. Lisbon, right now, seams to have more tourists than locals, but I feel like they aren't enjoying the best things in Lisbon that don't appear in theirs travel-books. I would like to share what Lisbon means to me, to my generation, to the people who move through trains and buses all day, to students, to those that know how to enjoy the little pleasures in life that, almost always, are free.
IMPORTANT: I can't accept hosts without talking with my flatmates, we're 5 so we need an absolute majority.
Interests
I love taking pictures of random things. It's just something I do without thinking too much. Sometimes they are ok, but most of the time they just seam some a random but at the same time a deep art work.
I like art but I'm really lazy so I don't know that much about that, I love semiotics so it's the only thing I know about art.
I also love cats, I own 5 that live with my mother.
I've always loved music but I think I'm in such a phase that I'm no longer open-minded when in comes to new super-alternative projects.
Cinema is also a fundamental part of my life.
