Hello! I'm Alice, a 20 year old student of French and German. I'm grew up in West Yorkshire, UK and now study in Oxford. This year I am spending abroad so from September to February I lived in Vienna and now I'm in Paris until September.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and explore wherever I am and it can often be nice to stay with a host and meet new people instead of isolating yourself in a hotel!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all different types of music, almost constantly if I can. At the moment I've been listening to a lot of Savages, Blood Orange, James Blake, Television, Mac Demarco, Grimes and Good Morning. I was at Glastonbury this year!

I love watching foreign films especially French and German. I love Michael Haneke. I also love Audrey Hepburn - A Roman Holiday, Sabrina and Breakfast at Tiffany's. A Streetcar Named Desire is one of my all time favourites and the best film I've seen recently is Mustang.

I read a lot, as I study literature. The best things I've read this year are Rilke's poetry and Yoko Tawada's short stories and essays. I love reading Patti Smith's books, as well as listening to her music. William Morris's poetry is not well-known despite being very beautiful. Anne Frank's Diary will also be one of my favourites, as is Anna Karenina.
