About Me

I'm a Kiwi who has been addicted to travelling for a while now but who has never given couchsurfing a go. I'm really excited to make the most of the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world and share my culture while learning about others.

I was very fortunate to spend a year between high school and university living in the UK and travelling throughout Europe and from then on I've been pretty hopeless at staying in New Zealand for any extended period of time.

I studied languages at university, partly because it gave me another excuse to travel but also because I love the way you can see a different view of the world if you take the time to communicate with someone in their own language,

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am about to embark on a 6 month trip through the States and Central America and I would really love to be able to meet locals and fellow travellers and share experiences and knowledge with them.

I love to meet new people and learn about different cultures, languages, and cuisines. I think it is so great that a community of travellers can exist and connect through something like Couchsurfing.

Interests

A lot of my spare time is spent cooking and eating with friends. I love to share good food with people and one of my favourite things about travelling is getting to try new cuisines.

Over the past couple of years I have developed a passion for salsa dancing. I am very much an amateur but am hoping to learn some different styles and dance in a few different places throughout my travels.

I also love to spend time outdoors hiking, swimming, surfing, and camping.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 6 months studying in Beijing during my third year of university. It was a pretty crazy experience filled with a lot of delicious food and a lot of trying to learn Chinese characters. I met some wonderful people, muddled my way through many hours of Chinese classes and learned that it's a privilege to have access to fresh air.
