Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I keep meeting couchsurfers and they are such wonderful and likeminded people that I've decided to take the plunge and become one myself!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Moving house 14 times in 22 years

-living in the countryside/ the town/ the city and the suburbs, and appreciating them all

-seeing the Alps from the air for the first time

-walking up a mountain in the Abruzzo national park at 4am and watching a traditional Shepard milk his sheep and make ricotta- then walking back down the mountain, drinking hot curds and watching the dazzling sun rise

-waking up after three months in Italy, having dreamt in Italian for the first time, and then having to trek through a blizzard to the train station, taking a train for 7 hours to reach Pisa airport from Siena (with lots of stops) and then arriving just in time to see my plane home cancelled and still managing to get on another plane... and STILL being amazed by how unbelievably beautiful the snow was.

-sitting under the cherry blossom on my very long breaks at college with many friends, admiring the beauty of cold northern springs in York

-co writing and performing a play for A Level Theatre and cementing an amazing friendship

-playing live folk music with my parents and their friends as a young child

-passing my French exams at an Italian university during my Erasmus year

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I just learnt how to knit, and I also learnt how to weave corn/ I love to help people with their languages (when I can) and appreciate their help with mine. I love to share my love of music, arts, poetry and the natural world- the most wonderful thing for me is passion for life and acceptance of differences... and understanding that clichés are perfectly legitimate ways to express yourself sometimes!!
