Exploring Pais Vasco by bike! Being outside, getting fit and enjoying the warmth of European sun. At home we’re getting stuck into a project to develop outdoor, land based educational experience for young people.

ABOUT ME

We have been living together in a little cabin in rural Gloustershire as part of an informal community. We are passionate about fresh air, fun and food.

Alice:
My passions have led me to working in the outdoors with children.
3 years ago I also trained as a massage therapist and I am interested in how improving our relationship with our body can support us in our connection to ourselves and our land. I practice yoga regularly and sometimes teach hula hooping. I am energetic and passionate, I love meeting new people and taking inspiration from their projects.

Jonny: I am a trained organic gardener and have been working as a grower and lately following in Alice's footsteps and working outdoors with young people. I love hiking, cycling, climbing and listening to interesting podcasts.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep on weaving each thread... cause you never know what your gonna make!
I think living is all about connecting with people and the world in different ways, live to smile and share happiness with strangers and friends alike.
However, don't forget that there is much injustice still in the world towards people and our natural world so we should work to redress the balance in our lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have been living in a small cabin for the last few years so haven't had space to host. But we have had some great Work-awayers come and stay to work on the farm.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Alice : I was wonderfully hosted during my time traveling by bike in Spain.

Jonny: I travelled with a friend overland from the UK to India and couchsurfed all the way with some amazing hosts.

We have both hosted people through couchsurfing in varroius shared houses that we have lived in and always enjoyed meeting interesting people from all over the world. This is our first big trip away together and we're looking forward to all the interesting and inspiring people that we will meet on our travels. Thanks in advance.

What does it means to be a wild human given our one precious life? Loving friends and family, our enviroment ...dancing, the world, new ideas, cycling, children, being outside, climbing trees, herbalism, making things, swimming outside, hoola hooping, music, cooking, food..hmmmm. new ways of doing things, not wasting stuff..Freeganism. Activism. Seeing people doing good tings for their communities. Thinking about how they can be supported better by society. Cheese. Dreaming (not related).

Alice grew up in a house full of old books cause her Dad sells them, and Jonny did too as his dad likes to buy them.

Music, lots of it...bass music. Big speakers....reggae, ragga hip hop. dancehall...Balkan, gypsy, folky beats...swing, django, jazz, classical.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Alice: Been to a Japanese strip club with a Middle Eastern Princess! no jokes...
Not my usual thing, but something i'll never forget!

Jonny: Hiked for 35 days across the Pyrennese mountains in northern Spain.

Sharing the sharing vibe!
We can:
Cook...love cooking keen to cook with others...essentially vegetarian but can be tempted with 'happy' meat and fish!
Organic gardening particularly vegetable growing.
Massage, Alice is a trainned holitic massage therapist.
Yoga.
Dancing...looking to find space and inspiration for more of this outside just the party sphere (and in it as well!)
Learning Spanish....nececito practicar mucho!

Can milk a goat or cow! Alice used to come home from school each day and do this when we had the goats and Jonny milked cows on the farm where he worked.
